$1,400/yr To Insure Me For An R6.... Yeah Right

I have a feeling there is a lot more to that story than you care to share or even know.

$1,400/yr To Insure Me For An R6.... Yeah Right

Wow. My dumb-ometer went through the roof after reading that. The high amount of liability has very little to do with property damage (cars, houses, street lamps, whatever), it's for health coverage if you wreck someone's body including yours, which is entirely possible on any motorcycle by the...

    New Yamaha MT-09 triple engine

This will look really awesome with no fender in the rear. Also you can see that the engine is essentially the frame of the bike, which other manufacturers have been known to do before (Ducati I think?) I really like it. Pretty clean setup.

    Yamaha fishing

Needs a few things done to get water out of the motor/carbs. I'm sure if they go about it the right way she'll fire up as if nothing ever happened.

    New truck?

Only read the first few pages and got the jist of this thread. Flip/flop recommendations between the 4-banger vs the V6 and some Ridgeline suggestions. Relevant to OP, average fuel economy of the two engines you are actually interested in (chose 2012 model for bigger data). V6 fuel average...

    2005 SV650S won't start

If you are in neutral, killswitch on handlebar is in correct position, you have the clutch pulled in and you can hear the fuel pump prime when you turn the key to "ON", it could be something as silly as a fuse. There are some service manuals here if you don't have a paper copy. ->...

Elderly Woman Crashes into Bike Store

My guess is that she's in such a state of panic that her foot is stuck on the accelerator or the pedal itself is stuck, and after crashing in the store initially (even though she hit cars outside first) she wants to put the car in Park, but because the transmission is in full motion it doesn't...

Stupidly overpriced motorcycle for sale thread

Um. That ducati's picture is the one for the 1098 Wiki page. It's not even a picture of the actual bike you would see in person... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Ducati_1098.JPG Shady much? Also, the 1098 is definitely not a sport touring.

Two different bikes, two years apart, same spot.

Both my bikes came with Yoshis already installed. They both sound great so never bothered to change them. But yeah, I like 'em a lot. If my next bike has a stock or aftermarket I don't like, I would most likely lean to get another Yoshi. edit: Now that you bring that up, I notice there are...

Two different bikes, two years apart, same spot.

Went out for a leisure cruise today on the parkway. I suddenly remembered I took pics here of my SV650S a couple days after I got her back in 2011 and there was no mass crowd of tourists to get in the way. Figured I would take a minute to "update" my picture by the Falls. Now I'm wondering if I...

    Mandatory Motorcycle Theft Alarms

I called TD for a quote in Oct 2012 and got into the discussion with them about the alarms. My new-to me R6 didn't have one but I did install a Gorilla one on my SV back in 2011 (it's super easy if you can read plain english instructions). The agent said that even though a lot of these are...

    Stolen Yamaha R6

Most of the time adding theft to your policy is an extra 10$/month or so. Definitely worth it for the piece of mind. Add that to your on-bike security measures (chains, alarms, etc) then you are as protected as you can be. Like many have mentioned, most on-bike systems are simply deterrents. If...

    Michelin PR3 - 12,000KM Review

Most clearances are for items that are discontinued or simply do not sell well at all. The PR2's do not fit either of those bills. Remember that I said most. There are other reasons to have clearances as well. Petes has great prices with 20$ shipping. And they ship fast... Here are the PR2's at...

How long will insurance take to pay for my bike?

This is a question that will be best answered by your insurance agent. The people of this board will simply chime in on their experiences which I am sure will vary from "very quickly" to "extremely slowly". Every company is different.

    Michelin PR3 - 12,000KM Review

The main reason I stayed with PR2's instead of the 3's is the slits on the front tire are prone to cupping. You can actually see it a little bit in this picture. And also the fronts are quite ugly in my opinion. I understand it's all to help push water away even more but the PR2 was already an...

    GTAM Roulette

Because when the settlers came to that area, it was already flattened and all the trees were already uprooted for their convenience. They figured it was God making it easier for them. No one questioned it of course.
