    100,000km Recognition

Nice catch with the camera! You must have been keeping a very close eye on it.

    Wasps

I've used the regular (non-foam) Wilson's wasp & hornet spray and it's fantastic. Knocks the little f***ers right out of the air, dead before they hit the ground.

    Heat Warning: Tuesday 26 Aug

It's all relative. One inch of snow and they shut down the city. Two inches and they call out the National Guard.

Obviously they hadn't taken their final vows yet.:D

    Wood Stove Install - recommendations?

I can't rememebr. Pilot? Aviva? The carrier changed hands several times over the years. Some of it may have been because it was a rural property. One hundred and sixty year old house, no fire hydrants and a volunteer fire department.

    Shed

Like a SENSIBLE little girl! Our dog just caught one in the backyard (skunk, not little girl) last week. Got a mouthful of spray, promptly dropped the skunk, ran back into the house and threw up. Much hilarity ensued.

Our insurance company insisted on yearly inspections, with proof that it had also been professionally cleaned every year.

Sihks must wear helmets in Ontario

Those so-called "freedoms" are most often lost because a small but loud minority refuse to act responsibly for their own and the greater good. Personally, I'm sick of the crowing about rights; when will those same people take as ardent a stand for their responsibilities? Want to ride a...

Toronto should crack down on loud motorcycles: Editorial

I don't support loud pipes but I'm tired of small-time (and small-minded) politicians picking at us as low hanging fruit. If you live in Toronto (I don't, thank Christ), contact your local councillor and let him/her know that you are against this proposal. As for Wong-Tam, who's sponsoring the...

    Wood Stove Install - recommendations?

Not sure where you're located (beyond 'Toronto'). I've used these guys in the past but then I lived less than 2 kms from them. http://www.caledonfireplace.ca/

    Shed

We got a Duroshed years ago and it was great. Bit spendy but we went for the largest they had, with bay doors, a man door, and two windows. We had it installed by Duroshed and they did a good job. All we had to do was wire it and caulk all the joints and seams (that was our choice, probably...

    Sikhs must wear helmets

There are some very bad things about religious beliefs: The need to denegrate other faiths. The belief that one faith is the 'correct' one and all others are wrong. The repetition of 'facts' supporting a dogma which are little more than slogans. The blind adherence to a faith or dogma due to...

Anybody else find this the most disturbing part of the whole thing?:D

    Bless you?

Along with religious freedom, apparently common courtesy, grace, and good manners are also banned.

CBC Article - Motorcycle deaths could hit 7-year high, OPP says

I'm 55 years old, so right in the demographic you so patronisingly describe. The problem with gross generalizations is that they are generally inaccurate. A few corrections, if I may. I have been riding for almost 40 years, every year. I agree that it's returning or first-time riders who are...

Time to end alcohol retail monopolies in Ontario!

No, that was just a rebranding exercise. With the advent of so-called craft beers, the Beer Store felt it needed to update its image. We even have a drive through beer store down the street here, in Kitchener, lol. While I agree that beer should be sold in corner and grocery stores, as they do...

    Biker Favourite Things

Ours was a little bigger than the average suburban lawn. Took about 6 hours to cut properly, so her offering to do it was no small thing. Paying someone else to do it got expensive, especially for something we could do ourselves.

    Sikhs must wear helmets

American precedents have no bearing on Canadian law. If they did, we'd be allowed to act like adults. The Sikhs in BC are a hugely influential community when it comes to provincial politics. They have the numbers and the money and the organization to lobby effectively for legislation that...

    Another sign of policy stupidness

Because apart from handing out (often deserved) tickets, they also go after rapists, murderers, child molesters, scumbags who prey on the old and defenseless, and drunk drivers who pose a threat to motorcyclists and everyone else. Not all cops are good or honest but not all are bad or liars. For...
