    Today, I rode a Harley

I generally stay out of the the whole World vs. H-D thing; always degenerates into a bunch of juvenile name-calling and is as predictable as the sunrise. But I'm curious about something; this is for BOTH sides: are you as obsessed with all other aspects of other people's lives as you are with...

    Ghomeshigate

This isn't in relation to the Ghomeshi story, just in general, but I disagree. I think we have created a climate of victimhood that many people are only too happy to embrace. Got a bad mark? The teacher doesn't like you. Didn't get the promotion? That jerk who has the boss' ear blocked you. Lost...

Recent movies you saw - recommend or no

Just watched Lucy with Scarlett Johansenn. I'm not a sci-fi fan but it was ok for the most part. Started watching Dawn of the Planet of the Apes; first 20 minutes or so were impressive. Just need to have two uninterrupted hours to watch it all.

Here's the thing, though: I have never claimed to be something other than what I am. Though I'm sorry if anyone was offended by my remarks regarding rainbow-hued unicorns. Rainbow-hued unicorns are of course valued members of our society and I never intended for anyone to infer otherwise.

You're absolutely right and I'm not going to try to offer some stuttering self-serving excuse or apology. While I'm actually not a Ford supporter (don't live in TO and don't think he's a very good leader), I certainly do lean to the right. But (I'm sure you knew this was coming), my objections...

This ranks up there with the typical politician's apology; "I'm sorry if anyone was offended but I take no responsibility for my actions which caused the offense in the first place." You posted that quote from the NP comment because it reflected your own beliefs. Don't back-pedal now just...

I suspect you chose it because you believe you are the keeper of knowledge and anyone with a opinion different from yours is simply ignorant. Fortunately we live in a country where everyone's vote carries the same weight. From the soldiers who have fought for our rights to the bricklayers and...

Not what I'm saying and I'm sure you know that. Reducing over half the world's population to a single characteristic is patronizing and demeaning. 100 years ago (give or take) women were regarded as not having the acumen to be involved in "men's affairs". It supposed that by virtue of their...

And that right there is how Rob Ford got elected in the first place and why he still has a lot of support. That smarmy, paternalistic, superior, pseudo-intellectual posture favoured by arts majors and hipster baristas and perpetuated by those who have never actually put anything on the line but...

    Today, I rode a Harley

I've had lots of different bikes over the years and they've all had their good and bad points. Last two have been Harleys because that's what I wanted and I could afford them. Currently thinking of going back to a Triumph (Thruxton). Never understood the hate-on so many riders of other brands...

    second terrorist attack today?

Soon as the purple and green people start beheading innocents and broadcasting it on the internet, they're on the list, too. You're reasoning has some, er, flaws. You cite the readiness of Harper's speech as the best indication that this was all a pre-planned ruse by the government. As a...

    second terrorist attack today?

Security personnel were herding everyone into rooms and telling them to barricade themselves in. Makes sense. That way the only people roaming the halls are security and the gunman. It's for everyone's safety, not least of which is security. A civilian "heroically" charging out into the middle...

    second terrorist attack today?

Everybody just calm down. Trudeau the Lesser will offer hugs all around and all will be well. Once they see his megawatt smile and great hair, the terrorists will be sobbingly apologetic. The Dauphin will forgive them and we can just move forward.

What Are You Currently Listening To?

I'm a country fan and really like some of the new stuff that's coming out, especially from some women artists. Brandy Clark, Pistol Annies, Kacey Musgrove.

what would you do with a BIG money win?

I don't have much debt but I'd pay off what's outstanding, get a new car for my wife and a second bike for me and sock away the rest. I've been to most of the places I want to see, had the big fancy house for many years, so not much I'd want to blow it on.

    Young offenders

The YOA is yet another stroke of brilliant social engineering foisted upon us by the limp-wristed, hand-wringing, liberal "progressives", who rarely have to live with the results of their actions. So we are now enjoying the fruits of their labours; snotty little b@st@rds with no respect for...
