    Yamaha. WTF !!

Yup. No ABS for me, thank you very much... Who ever said motorcycling was 'safe' anyway? Yeah I'm sorta joking, we all want it as safe as possible I guess, but there's still some truth there. All these aids add to cost, but more importantly, weight and complexity. Just more crap to break! And...

    Robby Rocket

Thank you, Rob. So (just to be clear) the cemetery is not in Newmarket - but up north of Elora, north of Guelph, right? I will be in Harriston, Saturday A.M. then. Leaving from south Etobicoke (in six-seater Buick) so PM me if anyone needs a ride! Regards

Sold! To the big feller with too many bikes, heheh... Thanks Steve. Enjoy. A 'tailored' jacket like that will keep a guy off the snacks and/or gallons of beer, y'know? So good luck with that (hey, me too!) L8R all

    Robby Rocket

Wow. Hard to believe that he was 60 or so. We used to sit around in winter inside his 'new' shop back in the 1970s, and dream... There goes a whole lot of old-school knowledge - and a genuine good guy too. RIP bro

    Need advice

Hi. The Stage 1 kit (Parts Canada number 1007-0205) should be fine for you. It's a good thing because as mentioned you get your hands on those nice aftermarket needles, adjustable w/ 5 grooves. Follow their jetting instructions with their new needles and their probably one size bigger main jets...

Fallen Riders/In Memory of - COMMENTS

So, we all know that discussion of events/causes in that forum is discouraged. But I am seeing a pattern developing... It goes something like this: "Rider was hit by a vehicle making a left turn." Everyone assumes the cager was 'not paying attention' or at least that it was his fault! This is...

Strange front brake issue today - 2004 CB600F

Coupla points here... This is typical behavior! Most brakes are like this, but ya don't notice until it gets severe. Fluid pressure clamps the brakes. Upon the release of the pressure, only the elasticity of the rubber seal retracts the pads back away from the disc. If there is any pitting...

Michelin Pilot Street for Ninja 250/300

There are Michelin Pilot Street in both bias-ply and radial - I'm assuming you guys are doing radial? The radial's nice 'H' speed rating is sweet. Glad you're liking them... Big Michelin fan myself.

Tap and Die shop recomendations? Stripped oil filter bolt

Perhaps Suzuki of Newmarket should have offered to fix the problem for you, and estimated the cost... Did they not do so? It is of course the peak of the hectic spring season, so... maybe they just decided that you were done.

Bent fork options? Are fork inner tubes universal?

LoL, heheh... Johnny Bent can be gruff but he's a good guy and he'll fix you up. See if he'll show you the mint 1979 CBX he keeps in there under a blanket!

    Intermittent spark

Yup; coils, wires and caps. If these are fine then it's your triggering system. Very probably original 1985! Hopefully there's just some mung or whatever in there and you can clean it up inexpensively. Pretty sure 1 & 4 trigger simultaneously, also 2 & 3. So it fits... Good luck bro, let us know...

Valve clearance slightly out of spec - Safe to continue riding ?

Yup, should be fine. Valves tighten up, and gotta beware tight ones (not so much loose ones)... Tight exhaust valves if ignored are trouble! In theory, if that one valve was tighter - plus it was 40 degrees out, in July - and you went out and ran her real hard, that could be bad. But this nice...

Spring Sale Continues - Icon Moto Retro Black (Size XL) - Heavily Armored Coat

Guys as you know I have no bikes anymore, an unfortunate situation, heheh... My lady previously found I had six helmets - so I sold three of them on this very forum. That worked out okay. I met three good guy GTAMers and they were well pleased. I went out of town last weekend and she has now...

Rosedale Valley Road - High Risk?

Ack! this crash sucks very badly and I am appalled. It's early in the spring and the trees are dropping little gooey things all over beneath them. At 1AM there's a chill and heavy dampness everywhere... Now here comes buddy on his SuperSport. Too inexperienced to perceive when to be cautious...

    Save on OEM parts

"Sites"? Dude, just go to your local Kawasaki parts counter and purchase a new little rubber grommet thing. Less than $17 bucks - and it doesn't take a few days! And you won't have a ton of bolts from a previous 'kit' left over, heheh... If you need a part, go to Kawi and buy it. Boom; done. Why...

    Rain ride

Coming back to T.O. from Atlanta on my CB900F, I woke up in Virginia and it was so dark and black-skied that headlights were illuminating things in the daytime, y'know? Oh yeah it was raining... I had to make time, needed to be at work Monday A.M., so off I went! The rain was so thick, so heavy...

Running the Vehicle while using an Air Compressor

Yup - exactly. Your battery should be able to run the little pump anyway, without running the bike... Or use a car battery - even one that's inside a car. Or run the pump directly off a battery charger (not a teeny one - check the amperage involved). It's more like 3 grand plus, before most...

Forks: difference between springs, valves and cartridges

Good questions here... First of all I want to mention that the full Parts Canada, Motovan and other books (the same ones bike shops use) are all available online. They're exact, page numbers, everything. A valuable resource but many are not aware... There are pages and pages of front suspension...
