Rust removal - Gas tank opening

I've cleaned a couple of my tanks with Rust Remover green solution from CT, it worked pretty good. Soak it well, it'll start bubbling, rub well with a cloth, rust should dissolve fast. Rinse with kerosene, absorb excess with cloth, and let it dry for a bit. Keep the stuff away from painted areas...

Is helmet theft/ vandalism a thing in Toronto?

When I used to park my gsxr downtown Toronto, I tied the helmet cover around the helmet and would lock the strings inside the tail under the solo seat cover. That way I'd know if someone screwed around with the helmet. I was there only during the day and UofT has plenty of people around all the...

NEW 2020 Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade and Fireblade SP Announced

Not a Honda fan, but I like it. Great to see that all manufacturers are stepping up their game to get up to par with the rest. At one point it was ridiculous when a bone stock BWM S1000RR offered so much more than all the other bikes, it took a decade for all manufacturers to get the message...

Clean current injectors or buy new from China?

That's what I thought, one whole unit that can't be taken apart. I might just buy the cheap China ones, and at worst I lose $60. Or keep an eye for a used set coming off a running bike just being parted out, if they've sat for too long with gas in them, they're done. Tried a set from another...

Clean current injectors or buy new from China?

I always run shell 91, but the 2008 race bike with anti-slosh foam had race gas in it for sure at some point. The pump was there, and now on the 2003.

Clean current injectors or buy new from China?

I tried cleaning with break cleaner and air compressor, it didn't work; this method worked on the 2008 gsxr1000 injectors (8 of them) that had similar symptoms, the the fuel pump was swapped on both bikes. I've watched youtube vids all methods show forward cleaning with a solvent. Unless there...

Clean current injectors or buy new from China?

I have never sent fuel injectors to be cleaned professionally so don't know what the process involves and what the fees would be for 4 injectors? I think the current injectors might be clogged beyond cleaning, they would need to be taken apart completely and back-pressured to remove traces of...

    SMP sold

So many questions to be answered by the new owners. Let's hope they are bike friendly and won't turn the track like Mosport, where bikes are there only a few days a season (if they can physically turn it like Mosport that would be great). I hope they will finally have weekend trackdays regularly...

    Ford government proposing photo radar

I prefer to have police officers fight real crime and concentrate on things such as drugs, gangs, organized crime etc and NOT on income generation by writing tickets to drivers doing safe speeds. Also, I prefer the speed limits to be realistic of the speeds that the majority of drivers can do...

    Ford government proposing photo radar

This is how it starts, and it's only a matter of time then till these cameras start appearing everywhere and not just on school zones. 400 Highways will be fun, when the majority does 120+ km/h, just imagine everyone doing exactly 100 km/h on the 400 highways, go east on the 401 towards Kingston...

2007-2008 Suzuki GSXR 1000 Factory Gel Seat

This is a Suzuki Factory Gel seat for a 2007-2008 GSXR 1000. It came with a race bike I bought, I have no use for it. It is in excellent condition, it's just missing a couple of rubber pieces in the bottom that can be easily replaced. It retails for over $300, asking $140 OBO. Located in...

    Lithium batteries again....

Baysideperformance.ca has shorai for the best price I found online, fortnine did match it for me as I wanted to buy other stuff at fortnine. This is my 1st lithium battery, the main concern I have on the race bike is can the bike overcharge this battery cause it to explode/burn while riding...

    Race 2008 GSXR1000 Won't Start After Crash

I posted this before CSBK weekend, only ran the bike on the rear stand at home through the gears at no more than 5000 rpm. As soon as I went out on track during Friday practice at CSBK, I realized something was wrong right away, the bike would have no more power beyond 5000 rpm or so, I was like...

    Race 2008 GSXR1000 Won't Start After Crash

Read the whole manual section on FI today, and finally fixed it! All it was the ground Black/Brown wire, that all 6 sensors share, was slightly pulled off the ECU plug and wasn't making contact with the ECU. It was frustrating measuring voltage and continuity from end to end on all sensor plugs...

    Race 2008 GSXR1000 Won't Start After Crash

That would make sense and my life easier, but with the multimeter from the sensors' plugs to the ecu terminal plug both wires would show connectivity on all 6 sensors. Tried moving the wires around with the ignition on to see if the flashing FI warning would disappear, nothing happened. So far...

    Race 2008 GSXR1000 Won't Start After Crash

All the sensors involved in the error codes have 1 or 2 wires of the same colour in common that eventually join 4 into 1 at the ECU plug terminal. I'm thinking I have a shorted circuit somewhere, I've pulled both types of wires out of the harness ~ 1 foot length and can see the 4 into 1 joints...

    Race 2008 GSXR1000 Won't Start After Crash

This bike flipped a couple of times at a crash last year, and to rebuild needed a new gas tank, subframe, exhaust can, right handle bar, and fairings. The battery ripped the seat off, it took out the leads, and the ECU took off the bike on its own too. I replaced all the structural damaged...
