    Go pro on a rollercoaster?

I think with the Chesty you should be OK, so long as it does not interfere with the roller coaster's restraints. I've been able to get cameras on coasters before without much issue, as long as I could prove it is secured.

    Good ol' USA

Ah, I was under the impression that the time between arrest and police handling was also an issue. Was there a delay in their response as well, do you know? Just trying to reconcile stories. I am aware, but even still, be prepared to articulate your concern in court to justify your actions...

Do cops lay HTA charges based on 3rd party evidence?

Fastar, was this in Newmarket last night? If so, I was on the other side of the intersection at the time! The Road Watch program allows people to make complaints about other motorists. The form you fill out is treated as an official complain, with all the associated penalties for lying. If you...

    Good ol' USA

Getting into the conversation late... The problem here wasn't that he used force to arrest the shoplifter, but that he hogtied him and then kept him for hours. The criminal code allows anyone to arrest (within certain guidelines), using as much force as is reasonably necessary, but the...

Law Enforcement - The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.....

A cop is legally required to maintain detailed notes. This can (and should) include all identifying details of the offender. As long as he was doing his job, he would have to have her details in his private notes. Its not really a matter of intentionally keeping it for attempted dating purposes...

Law Enforcement - The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.....

What does it matter if he "happens to carry a gun"? Is that really the first place your mind went? Its not like he is saying "lets go for dinner. Oh, did you see my gun?". An officer's sidearm is a tool of the job, and its responsible use sacred and respected. Is is a threatening tool? Yes, but...

    Kiteboarding anyone?

Nutty! Was it an inflatable, or a foil kite (like a parachute)? Just curious to know if there is a power difference.

False Negatives and the "Didn't see" issue

I once spoke to a cop who did accident investigations, and I'm 100% sure he would agree with the "false positive" theory proposed by the OP. He told me that in many of the car vs bike crashes he responded to, that the car driver didnt at all see the bike, while knowing that they were looking in...

    Kiteboarding anyone?

It looks like fun, and I would live to get into the sport. I'm not a huge fan of water (I suck at the swim), but I think snowkiteing looks amazing. Anyone here do it? Have any advice for a newbie? I've read up about as much as I can, and it seems agreed I need a trainer kite, so I can learn...

Does this mean the market will crash soon, and I'll be able to afford a house in the GTA? *fingers crossed*

    America is no longer FREE

The two seem to be very different to me. Ours still maintains process and the requisite for reasonable grounds, as well as timelines for which the process must follow, ensuring the accused/suspects right to receiving justice (full justice) without delay. The way the US seems to operate, is...

Remember 0.05 is still a roadside suspension

The point of my post is that we either play by the rules, or risk change that most will find unfavourable in order to ensure safety for all. Would I want to see 0.0? No, I like a beer with dinner, and would feel unjustly charged when I know I'm safe. Of course, I'm a 1-beer person, so in...

Remember 0.05 is still a roadside suspension

Thats a pretty cool calculator. According to it, I can drink 3 beers (1L) of 5% alcohol an hour and not even hit the "warn". Seems more than enough for a decent night out, and still stay legal. Just makes me wonder even more what the mentality is of the person who repeatedly hits warn, and even...

Remember 0.05 is still a roadside suspension

Many countries have 0% zero tolerance drinking and driving, and consume more alcohol than we do. And MADD does not exist there. True, but almost everyone at 0.08 is blitzed. Is attempted murder a crime? The murder never took place. If one conspires to commit a crime, but does not themselves...

I agree with this. The desired effect cannot be reached by modifying the bulb alone. Just dont do it.
