I've cancelled trips before due to weather and always regretted it. Ill be happier riding in rain or heat than loosing the vacation time. I just use proper gear for touring and prepare for everything. Heat and rain does not last the whole day.

I used coke can alcohol stove. I like it because it burn clean and leave no sooth on my cookware. You do need to carry alcohol for fuel but there is always HEET you can buy in most US gas station. My insulated lunch bag double as sink.

West Virginia. 1st day ride through PA (44-144-26) up to Cumberland or Front Royal (800+ kms) 2nd day ride WV 55, Skyline etc. (500kms) 3rd day ride home via most direct route which is 219. (800+ kms) Enjoy. we did this set up several times already.

Its good money and i like the week off in between shifts. You can only do short trips for weekends and loose time for family. But with the week off you can do a 3 day trip and spend the rest for family and house works.

Look far East and look further West. PA is a day trip. WV is a weekend trip. You need to go further south for more fun.
