Thanks for the PM. I just gave them a call, and after disclosing all my personal info I found that their rates to be (unfortunately) much higher than what I would have to pay with Intact/Jevco.
On a clean record and being under 30yo, it would cost me $3570 for Liability & Comprehensive for my...
I've never heard of "Desjardin Insurance" before, but seeing as how you got a great quote, I guess it's worth making the call! Any chance you can post/PM their phone number?
I think it's great that you value your legs; it seems many motorcyclists only care about their upper body protection so I think you already have the right state of mind to continue riding and hopefully avoid injury.
As for what I recommend, firstly I would say that the built-in knee protection...
Earlier this season I purchased 3 Weekend trackdays from TMP at a discounted price of $113 each. I now realize however that I won't have the time to attend all 3 weekend Trackdays. Instead of keeping them until next year, I figure I would sell them off for the same price I bought them for ($113...
I suppose you guys are right about that. I guess at the time it happened, it was clear to me that I needed some help to get going again. I did eventually pick up my bike (after gaining back my energy after the tumble), though I let it back down when I realized that the bike won't start, and the...
Hey 172Driver, good to see more sv riders taking it to the track! It was really nice to talk everyone during trackday, I would say that was the most enjoyable part of my day.
As for the trackday, I have to say that I didn't enjoy myself nearly as much as I thought I would, even before my...
The princess auto motorcycle wheel chock is (in my opinion) hands down the best chock for the best value (goes on sale for $50 + Tax). It can be used to trailer the bike, as well as a regular stand. The hard part is actually finding one to purchase. It is a seasonal item for PA, so they only...
Happy to help. On the tech sheet it does say to remove the mirrors, though I have noticed that taping them up and folding them in (sometimes even taping them down to the fairings so they don't move) is acceptable.
In order to pass inspection for the Intro to Track course, I would:
Replace anti-freeze with Water-Wetter/distilled water
Tape up Headlight/Taillight/Turn-signals (painters-tape is recommended)
Remove Mirrors (Tape up if mirrors have integrated LEDs)
Disconnect/Remove fuses (whichever is...
I bought this set on sale a couple of years ago, and it's absolutely great. It has nearly everything you'll ever need.
There are a lot of socket sets at Canadian Tire, but I really think this is THE one to get, especially for that price.
That's very sad to hear. Luck played a large role with my close call for both myself and the pedestrian.
I wish them both the best in this very unfortunate situation. Please update us on the incident as it progresses.
(anyone interested in replying to that video, please don't post here, post...
Anyone else going to the Shannonville trackday on Monday, July 9th?
I just registered to be in the beginner group; This will be my first time at SMP and I'm very excited to finally ride this track!
I'll be riding a silver SV650, hope to see some of you there!
