ditto ... picture taking with the DSLR is relaxing and I like doing it but these days if I have a free afternoon off from the family, I go for a ride :P
While the 4/3's are nice feature wise and do about I'd say 80% of what a DSLR does. It is just ANOTHER piece of equipment I have to carry with me.
- If I am on a bike space is at a premium and its just 1 more thing to pack (with the chargers, spare battery, case, etc.)
- If I am just around...
These days quantity is over quality of the photo ... since the quality of the photo with more recent phones is sufficient for most peoples needs (I'd say iPhone 5 / equivalent and up is good enough for day to day use)
I came up from using 35mm film camera's using multiple lenses, passed down...
I have a DSLR (Canon) ... with multiple lens for it. I have taken it on bike trips but will not do that anymore, it takes up too much space regardless of the fact that it takes AMAZING photos...
I find that with the phone camera these days, I snap pics of my kid and family function as they...
Found this video on FB and thought I'd pose the question here ...
Craziness ... happens in a blink of an eye life could have changed for these people. According to the postings, these people did end up surviving after the cameraman shut the camera off he went and got help.
I believe most...
I have a very old pair of JR Nitrogen gloves that I use (anyone remember CWW ? I bought them when they were still there). Tho (until now) I always used them on bikes that heated grips. Mine seem to work down to about 0c then it gets cold without heated grips. If it is raining however, I will...
try this ... I have done this since I used to commute from Mississauga to Markham everyday (for 5 years) on a motorcycle.
Take a ride on the 401 to Scarborough and back (I'm west end) and then go home and wipe your face down with a WHITE towel. You'll see how much soot your fact is covered in...
If you live near a highway there have been MANY studies done, here just a sample of 2 articles on a quick search ( I remember reading about these before ) ...
I've done the drive from Dallas to Toronto and I cannot remember anything on the route that I would want to stop in at. I'd have to take significant detours ...
having said that, my bro and I did the drive in about 20 or 22 hours or so ... so it can be done easily rotating drivers. We did it...
Re: Got my Renewal Paper (2016) ... My insurance went down !!!
Hey Joe, I live in an L7xxxx area so what you say about postal codes is not entirely true ... L7xxxxx is part of Brampton :

But when I look up...
what bike is it ? i find most dealers are willing to negotiate so you'll probably find a dealer willing to work whatever that price is and be more 'workable' with you ... no ?
I'm just curious ... is there any particular reason you are stuck on this 1 dealer ? There are many dealers in Montreal, why not just call a different one that has the same bike and see what they say ?
Interesting ... though I have no idea about to 'get a dealer to work with you' ... I can only tell you this is what he told me he experienced...
However if we do some quick math and add the VIA cost to fuel for the bike we'd get :
-- VIA (just looked it up) cheapest 1 way ticket if you left...
I bought chinese replacement mirrors for a bike I had that an OEM mirror that had a crack. Within 2 months of riding, the mirror LITERALLY fell out on the 401. One moment, I was checking my blind spot, a few minutes later I was checking it again and there was no mirror just the shell bolted to...
I'd just like to add +1 to the JR jackets ... I have owned lots of them plus Tourmaster jackets as well. I believe TourMaster is American so fits 'bigger' guys. I'm 5'10'' and between 230-240lbs.
I just talked to my buddy who bought a bike brand new from a dealership out of Montreal. He said :
- Paid for the bike in full
- Set up the insurance
- Rode the VIA up to MTL
- The dealers already had the bike plated with QC ownership ready to go.
- He DID NOT pay any QC QST taxes since it was...
