I had an XJ600 Seca II ... I rode it for 80k. I liked it, pretty much dead reliable for me for 2 years that I had it. is not too powerful, has about 50hp on it when I dyno'ed it.
Let me know if you get one, I MAY have some spare parts left over I could sell you if you needed spares.
I have a BW125 and I like it and would say get that instead.
I can do about 90-95kph on it flat out ... and about 105kph downhill ... and about 85kph up hill... this is pushing my 240 lbs *** around on it.
I have taken it on the 400 north bound and regularly rode it on the 427 north and south...
So your looking at this as a pure take you to work / commuter car then... you should probably just look at a 10-12 year old Corolla and pay 4000-5000 for it and drive it for 3 years and then see where you are in life ... you won't need collision on it and the cost of the car is so low that if...
How much are you paying ? your rate should be dirt cheap on a 250 at that age ...
I am paying liability+fire/theft on an SV1000 at $400 / year and on my BW125 scooter $151 / year for full coverage ~ liablity + comp + collision ($1000 ded though) - the cost to remove the collision was only $22...
Just curious, would you be doing anything else with your car ? Or is it just a commuter car ? You never intend to use it for anything else (e.g. towing trailers, hauling skis, canoe's, etc. ?)
Not Halton but I'm meeting some friends (supposed to) for breakfast at Zet's by the airport. No time for 'riding' only time to ride to eat breakfast then go home and do other stuff with the kiddo :P
Your welcome to come if you want to.
I know you can take your kid to 'private' facilities that require no insurance, plates, etc.
Kind of defeats the purpose of having a law that allows under 12 age riders on public land if you can't get insurance at all....
My kid is 3.5 ... so I'm looking early to see about the fact he might be ready for a 50cc dirt bike next summer (if he's coordinated enough, he isn't right now) ...
So assuming he is ready for a 50cc bike (e.g. PW50) and I want to take him say to the Ganny, I'm trying to see what are all my...
I had an FZ6 before ... I've ridden SV650's as well. I prefer the top end rush of the FZ6 since it uses an older R6 motor. The top end rush is better than the torque on the SV (personal opinion)... depends on what you want to do with it... if your 'sporting' it around town than the SV is a BIT...
Bought a set of these in fall and have not mounted them on the bike, still have the stickers on them. I'm riding less than I thought I would this year, might take me another year before I mount them. Petes is selling for $277 for a set plus $28 ship plus tax = $344.65.
I'll sell for $300...
Reasonably thinking this out says that if anything, the water might evap out of it slowly and if it does that would leave you with a higher than 50/50 mix of coolant to water ratio. However, if this is the case than its easy you just top up with more water (which you COULD do anyway since most...
Thought I'd ask here and see what I get.
I did a coolant change 2 or 3 years ago and have 1/2 a bottle of premix left from it. I also have a concentrated bottle (non-premix) that has about 3/4 from a different source but still Prestone. Obviously since they aren't full, they have been opened...
Back in the day ... I had 1 friend who was on an 03 R6 and another on an 03 SV650. I was following them and they took off hard from the light at Kennedy near 401. The SV actually pulled harder in the beginning and was ahead of the R6 until the R6 got up into the revs and just rocketed ahead...
