    CBR650F first service, valve check?

My '14 CBR650F is due for its first service (~1200KM), and I was quoted ~$350 bucks. The service guy mentioned it would need some time to cool down if I rode it in, as they do a valve check. And the valve check being part of the higher cost. Being this is my first new bike, and first FI 4...

Attorney General's Public Consultation for Traffic Offences

Not to mention he is using a straw man argument. No one is saying get rid of traffic tickets/enforcement.

Not sure if police officer liked my dash cam

Been pretty happy with this one. G1W-C. It is a bit older but has all the important features. I've used the seller a number of times as well, with only one issue that was resolved (through Paypal). http://www.banggood.com/NT96650-HD-1080P-30FPS-G1W-27-Inch-LCD-Car-DVR-Camera-Recorder-p-930385.html

Pulled over for Stunt (excessive speed), need advice! Please help.

Lane splitting is much more likely to land you an HTA 172 violation, and what the OP experienced. Also, OP get a lawyer, or give up driving for 6 years.

Your right to trial is being removed. We must speak now or just pay the penalty

This seems like a rather big issue, that I don't think many know about. Might be worth putting a sticky about it in the general thread, at least until the comment period closes.

Attorney General's Public Consultation for Traffic Offences

Well, sent my comment in. Hopefully I'm not flagged as some political activist now :protest: . "Hello, I am writing to express my thoughts and concerns on the proposed method for handling provincial offenses. An AMP system as an optional addition, or first step, could be a useful method for...

Hi-Visibility Fans! Do you rock it or do you not?

When I read the title, I thought you meant replacing the radiator fan with something more noticeable, sorta like http://imgur.com/gallery/wDlNP8E .

Hard break in vs Manufacturer recommended

Saturday I'll be doing a break in ride. Manual and dealer pretty much say the same thing. Don't lug it, don't bounce it off the rev limiter, vary the gears and rpm, but otherwise just ride it like normal.

    fighting a ticket in Hamilton

Er... I wouldn't advise denying you got the disclosure. I'd imagine that is sent via registered mail, and wouldn't look good on you. Now if you got it just a short time before trial, that MIGHT get the charge dropped since you weren't provided the evidence against you in time, but more likely...

I'll have to see what they say when I cancel mine with them.

    Insurance stupidity and CBR650F

Still 300 or so less than I'm getting. I'm M 29, clean record, Hamilton area, full M for ~3 years. Johnson includes an alumni discount, which is balanced out by them not doing multi vehicle discount (vehicles have to be similar).

    Insurance stupidity and CBR650F

Yes, for a 2014 CBR650F. TD went up about 50% on high performance rated bikes. It seems like Dalton, Duffy, and Johnson are still on last years rates. Johnson said March was when their new rates come in (Unifund Insurance underwriter). For me, insurance priority is accident/disability benefits...

    Insurance stupidity and CBR650F

Ok, now I'm a bit scared. TD's price jumped to 3100 dollars a year. Edit: Nvm, Duffy and Dalton is about the same still, at ~1500 a year. Tried Johnson, who I have my truck insurance with, and they are also at ~1500. But, if I pay off the bike, and forgo collision/comp, liability at 2m and...

Insurance Rate Increase?! How much did yours go up?

At least one of the underwriters isn't classifying it as sport, so there is hope. But ~1400 for full coverage is the best I've found so far. Another 2 years and I'll have had my M for 5 years, over 30 (shudder), and I should have more options open to me.

Insurance Rate Increase?! How much did yours go up?

Mine will be going from about ~800 to ~1400. Male, 29, Full M, clean record. Mostly due to me switching from a 04 GS500F to a financed 2014 CBR650F. Underwriters do not like a new bike with little history, or CBR followed by 600+. I'll be dropping TD who wanted 2k a year. Sounds like it goes...

What insurance services can you use without increasing premiums?

I'm of the mindset to avoid involving insurance in any instance the cost are under 4-5k. But I'm curious what coverages/benefits you can make use of that won't cause your premiums to go up? It seems like even accidents that are 0% your fault tend to go against you since you seem to have bad...

    Insurance stupidity and CBR650F

I think I tried them, but they wanted a full M license for 5 years. I could be wrong though. I've called so many places I've started to forget. I did get a hold of a local agent at State Farm, but they wanted 2700. Had more luck with Duffy, ~1200, another 250 for full insurance to meet...

    Insurance stupidity and CBR650F

That is starting to seem to be the case. I think State Farm may be the only place to get reasonable insurance on a sports bike... But, you have to have your M for over 5 years. Which is probably why they can offer decent prices. I think I'll be sticking to the CBR500RA. I might look into moving...

    Insurance stupidity and CBR650F

A couple of days ago I was halfway through the paper work to buy one of these new, when I realized I had forgotten to double check my insurer (TD) wasn't going raise my premiums too much. I currently pay 800 for a gs500F, they wanted 950 for a CBR500RA with full coverage, and 2k for the 650F. Of...
