200 tire size too big for street?

If they're free and if you can put them on without a big hassle, give them a shot. I'd do it just to see how that will affect the bike's handling, but I wouldn't plan on switching to 200 permanently.

Cycle World Superstore Misery - Never again

The first time I went to CWS I had an excellent experience. There was a short read-haired guy with a pony tail who went out of his way to help me pick the right helmet. I was so impressed that for my next shopping I went straight there. This time I had someone else help me, and while they...

GS500 max speed in top gear?

To get to the top speed, the bike needs to accelerate. The acceleration will be lower with higher weight, and higher with lower weight. As a matter of fact, the power may be the same, and in case of WOT it will likely be the same---the engine will be pushing as hard as it can. In practice...

    gas tank dent

I'd use something like a uni spotter or a slide hammer. If it's a large but shallow dent you could try some dent removal kit (with glue).

do people who ride litre bikes have a lot of self control?

I got mine because I wanted it. I didn't see it in any utilitarian categories---I simply wanted a liter bike.

Yea, that won't work. Tell yourself to look at something instead of not to. Eg. to look beyond the obstacle, to the side of it, etc.

    regarding traction control...

The underlined part is false. You can still crash in many ways even without the rear spinning too much. Traction control will recognize the differences in speeds between front and rear, but it won't help you with the wheel slipping sideways. Even without losing traction, you can still manage to...

    What caused your crash?

The same as giving condolences to someone at a funeral. In practice it rarely is beneficial unless the cause of the accident is clear. More often than not the exact sequence of events that lead to the accident are only known to the one who was involved, and if they are dead the living can...

    regarding traction control...

I believe it prevents rear wheel from slipping (spinning) under hard acceleration. As a side effects it may prevent burnouts and wheelies too. I don't think I'd want to WOT in a middle of a corner though. Edit: Here's a link that will likely answer your questions...

Non-hot model needs to borrow a bike... For M2 exit. Leghumpers allowed.

Depending on the particular date, I could be able to supply half of the necessary logistics (the "to bike" part).

Must ride in couple of hours and clutch won't disengage!

Given that it's after 5pm now it may be a moot point, but... If the cable is pulling fine, then the most likely problem is that it's not pulling far enough. You can keep tightening it until it gets the clutch to disengage. There should be two places that can be adjusted: at the lever and near...

do people who ride litre bikes have a lot of self control?

If a cop is waiting then it's not really "empty"... :P For me it's not really the speed itself that is the most thrilling, it's more about the adrenaline that comes from a combination of speed and challenge that a given road poses. And yes, it's not that hard to resist when things don't seem...

    Managing amateur track day risk

Marshalls may not know the rules that govern each group. I only did one (car) track day as a marshall (at Mosport) and we were told which group is out and what they can and cannot do, but I don't know if this happens everywhere else.

does a white jacket make the rider noticeably cooler than black under the sun?

Because black is so cool that you don't need to worry about thermodynamics. 8)

43 y/o first time rider.. no car license, what can i expect?

I don't see why you wouldn't be able to get insurance. The premiums will depend on the bike and your location. There are too many variables to make a guess. Think of what kind of bike you'd like, pick some specific model and ask an insurance broker (or an agent).
