    Gear Indicator

I'm assuming you just pull the clutch and brake to stop. Just make it a habit to keep pressing down on your shifter till it doesn't go anymore when stopped or coming to a stop (ideally going through all the gears). It's much safer to know your bike by feel than to depend on a display component...

    un-storing a bike

Was there fuel in the tank when he stored it? Did he put in stabilizer? If not, you may need to drain the carbs, drain the fuel, put new fuel + seafoam. If the carbs are really gunked up, you'll need to remove and clean them. Was the bike on a stand? or just sitting on its kickstand and...

    Clutching Problem

Been riding a couple of months and this is what worked for me as a newbie: From stop to 1st gear: - Pull in clutch, shift bike from neutral into first gear. - Give your bike around 3000-4000 rpm of throttle. - Gentle release your clutch till you achieve the friction zone. - When the friction...

Just got my 1st bike! A few questions....

As you correctly noted, your gear was too low for the speed you were going. You can ride smoother by easing off the clutch gently (engine braking). Or rev match (retains your speed) when you get more comfortable with your bike. Or apply the breaks to slow down and then ease in the clutch...

    Ninja 250R Carb Drain won't stop - a problem?

It seems the 2008+ Ninja 250Rs only have an ON and PRI positions. I re-consulted the manual and ON is correct setting. PRI will just drain everything outright. edit: Could it also be a vacuum hose problem?

    Ninja 250R Carb Drain won't stop - a problem?

I'm asking this on behalf of a friend who owns a suspect 2009 Ninja 250R. He's had issues since the day he bought the bike and was hoping a carb drain would do the trick. His bike has a pretty rough idling sound and will stall when revving (cold start). Having drained my own carbs myself, I...

Just got my 1st bike! A few questions....

Congratulations on your new acquisition! As a rider who's been riding a couple of months, maybe I can share a few things I've picked up along the way. - Shifting smoothly will come with practice and being familiar with the speed/RPM at which you should shift. - Never go faster than what...
