Importing a Motor Vehicle To Canada (the be all end all)

It looks like you do need to file AES to export a bike from US now. I did some research and it looks like non-US citizen can't do it. Asking a private seller to register with AESDirect, take a certification quiz, etc. just to be able to sell to Canadians... Who will do that!?!?! Anyway, it seems...

Seller is not on UVIP. red flag?

Lien information on UVIP is BS! I bought a bike in March and UVIP showed lien on it. The seller showed me a Loan Transaction paper that said that the lien was paid off. I went to the bank with the seller and they gave us a letter: Please, be advised that the above-mentioned loan has been paid...

Issue with buying parts from Europe

Oh, and regarding a suggestion to "learn from it". I did! I did learn not do deal with this particular manufacture (or any of its distributor) Any knowledge's worth something. Let's say in my case it costs $50 :)

Issue with buying parts from Europe

That's right. As I stated in my original post, the situation is complicated by many parties involved in the transaction. Even though they all seem to play nice, I would still blame the original manufacture website that allowed me to place an order (starting a chain reaction: PayPal takes money...

Issue with buying parts from Europe

I already mentioned that the same order from US distributor would me cost 54% (over $300) more! And what should I learn from it? Not buying stuffs overseas? I did it many times and never had issues like this. Yes, some shops don't ship to North America, but they state it clearly on their...

Issue with buying parts from Europe

And, btw, on their website in "Shipping & Returns" section there is the following line: "Delivery is by GLS (Germany + most EU countries) or DHL (USA, Australia, EU-member countries, etc.) as an insured package." Yes, there is no word "Canada", but I'm ok with them shipping to my US mailing...

Issue with buying parts from Europe

I'm not complaining about the company not refunding the payment or stealing some money. Surely, they refunded the exact same amount I paid them in Euro. I'm complaining about the situation in general. The company accepted the payment from Canadian customer knowing up front that they would not...

Issue with buying parts from Europe

Thanks all for the suggestions. I'm trying to contact the seller, hope they'll reply to my emails. No, there is nothing on their website. Actually, I did enter my full shipping address before proceeding to a payment. There is a countries selection box and Canada is in the list. Could you...

Issue with buying parts from Europe

Here's the story: I wanted to buy a motorcycle part manufactured in Germany. The company has just one North America distributor located in California, but after doing a simple math it turned out that buying the part directly from Germany and got it shipped to Canada would be 54% cheaper than...

Who has the best BMW service department?

Effective November 1st, 2014 Serpa eliminates motorrad department all together. Sales desperately trying to sell their remain bikes (got several calls from them already) and service does NOTHING but excuses. STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!!!

    Corsa Mechanica (thumbs way up!)

George is a great guy. I bought Aprilia from him 2,5 years ago and I'm very happy with the service. AFAIK after Kahuna closed, George took over servicing a bunch of Kawa bikes belonged to Kahuna. Sent from my SGH-I747M using Tapatalk

bluetooth with a buddy when riding

I think, it's more like the limitation of BT HSP. But I agree that a real life test result would be interested. Sent from my SGH-I747M using Tapatalk

bluetooth with a buddy when riding

HSP is a low power profile and used for cellphone connection. I just checked Scala Rider Q3 manual and it says the range is 10m/33ft. Still to short for any real life rider-to-rider comm.

bluetooth with a buddy when riding

Universal Intercom is BS. If you read carefully Sena connects to other BT devices via Headset profile, which usually works in 10 Ft radius. Only useful for rider-to-passenger communication.

    B'mer Obsessed - S1000R

Thanks for the info. Booked myself a ride on SuperDuke 1290 R! What surprises me the most is that, according to GP Bikes, all SD 1290 had been sold before they even hit Canadian border. I'd never fork off $20K+ on a bike without test ride it first. How people do that is beyond me... Sent from...

    B'mer Obsessed - S1000R

Seems like a valid measure to me. I don't care less if I put 17 or 19 L of gas in it. More important is how far I can go on 1 tank. Sent from my SGH-I747M using Tapatalk

    BMW s1000rr + long distances

Re: BMW s1000r + long distances I concur with you. I test rode S1000R and there was a very noticeable heat at speed coming from the front of the bike, especially on the left side. The ride was rather short, so I don't know how much it would bother me in the long run, but it's definitely a big...

    B'mer Obsessed - S1000R

I have Tuono V4 R and I went to Serpa BMW demo day specifically to test ride S1000R. To be honest, I was not impressed at all. It might be a subjective opinion, but I would never trade T4 for S1000R. I'd really like to try SD 1290, but nobody has it in stock :(. Any KTM demo days this year?
