Downsizing from a Blackbird, Would you do it?

I have Heli bars and peg lowering blocks from jaws. Touring screen makes huge difference too - I don't like the look of it, but it makes up for it in comfort on long rides.

    Ontario Gov "reducing" insurance rates

If you take their word for facts... They waste enormous amounts of $ and still bring in huge profits. 5 percent is still huge amount. There is no way around the simple fact - we are paying highest rates, and if the trend continues, wil have next to no benefits.

    Ontario Gov "reducing" insurance rates

I know pretty well how insurance industry operates in this province - legalized robbery enforced by government, but even I didn't know this: https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10152443144592761 I am not endorsing this MPP, his party or anything like that, I'm just amazed how far government...

    If you had 4-5 days...

It is really individual, and it depends on accommodation you get, how you plan your time, the weather... I've been to all those places mentioned so far... and my vote goes to Miami for this time of year. Just remember - most horrible news stories start with "Florida man..." :)

    Useful small, cheap, digital thermometer

Nice - I got one that is also voltmeter (few more dollars) - I fed the temp probe into the nose of the bike, so it sits just to the side of the inlet grille, under the headlight. Same bike, you can try it... I first had it secured near the handlebars, but it was giving me too high of a reading...

Like watches? post a pic of your watch, and a pic of your favourite watch

My Tissot gave out - so I bought Citizen Eco-Drive (basic chrono) for daily wear... I was always into Swiss only, but this thing is pretty cool in a way that I don't have to worry about it at all... It grew on me :) I'm now shopping for Oyster Perpetual...

    The Nanny State Strikes Again

It's one of my favorite excuses smokers pull. As you know, vehicles are essential in our society, from basic "getting from A to B", going to work/school, ambulances, fire trucks, mail delivery, produce delivery, you name it. It has pretty much nothing in common with fad of smoking... Smoking has...

    The Nanny State Strikes Again

I'm 100% with crankcall on this. You really have to see what it does to someone you love, and especially when it was caused by second-hand smoke... Your perspective changes really quickly. In terms of smokers rights in broader social context, I tend to equate smoking with drinking and...

    can someone explain why Honda...

Oh man, A4 with 160k - I wouldn't touch it... no kidding. Strictly on the account of reliability. Good luck tho.

    can someone explain why Honda...

That may not sound like a big deal to you... and you were lucky. My friend bought previous-rental corolla - he got it to over 500k and didn't have any of those issues... And he paid probably less than one tenth of what you paid for it. It's all relative, but numbers don't lie. Those JD Power...

    Aliens?

All probabilities and opinions aside, I truly hope we get to find another home planet before we destroy ourselves, or Earth runs out of luck. Regarding aliens - I hope they don't find us. Stephen Hawking understood it would be a bad day for humans, and I'm of the same view. They would treat us...

    Another rider down

That really sucks for the KLR rider. :( Thanks Vadim for that account, and thanks for the vid - pretty much closes the case... I wonder how many other fatalities this year were similar to this... It is this sort of crap that is going ruin it for everyone... And can anyone complain then 5-0...

Non-Toxic way to clean the grease/grime off my chain/rear wheel

I use kerosene - applied from small spray bottle, and work it in with cheap plastic-bristle brushes. I place rags under the chain/wheel so it catches all the over-spray and gunk that falls off... I drop-off rags and all other toxic stuff at community recycling events - once or twice a year, they...

    Wish this was here...

Nothing makes any sense. I see no point in trying to apply any kind of logic to these random ramblings of entitled mind. If it ever dawns on you that Universe doesn't revolve around you, start reading all these lines again, and maybe you'll get it.

I was wrong - you are (almost) starting to get it (taking quote out of context, yes, but there is a hint of you getting it)... As for rest of your post - still not making sense, sorry.

    Wish this was here...

You make no sense... at all. You sound like that guy who was stopped in his car for not wearing a seat-belt - and he said he doesn't have to wear a seat-belt because bikers don't wear it. Sorry, it is not a valid argument. I gave you plenty to go on in terms of valid arguments. I'm not here...
