On my Fz07, the engine braking is so hard that by the time I reach the corner I'm already going slow enough to power out of it, would have to try entering a corner too fast in order to keep a hand on the brake. Without gas the bike will keep slowing down even more through a corner, not much use...
Lately riding on the streets I've been wanting to hop on a curb & then off it for some elevation changes, needless to say tried it with a giggle.
Guessing I want to try going on more challenging terrain, are there any courses or dirtbike track rentals near the northern GTA area to try this type...
Lane splitting is perfectly fine in stopped traffic.
Nothing is gonna happen going 10-20KM between cars that isn't worse on the road or getting rear ended lol.
The Fz07 is a blast, I still want to try a SS eventually but planning on a Fz09 next probably.
Bike's have all that power crammed within 200KM, lotsa torque.
That looks decent, not sure if it's high enough would have to see how it fits. I prefer not having any cracks between my helmet chin curtain & below my jackets neck collar.
Ankle length riding boots, gloves, any riding pants/jeans & mesh jacket works. I just take off my jacket & work in the riding pants I came in, can even remove the hip & tail bone armour padding. I'm not gonna wear a 1 piece suit to work, too much hassle, only if I'd hit the track.
Klim K Fifty...
Literally any average jacket has a built in removable liner for cool weather, I never ride in the rain personally, just put on the gear I'll need and go, 0 cases on the bike. Never heard of jacket that has neck cover long enough to be tucked into the helmet, it'd need to be high enough to reach...
For summer I've found mesh jackets too hot, you can look up motorcycle armor on Amazon, they've got alot of room to let air flow while still covering the important bits.
Winter Mesh-jacket with windproof removable liner & sweater under for warmth is all you need, decent pair of long sleeve...
Saw someone on HW7 & Centre st. also caking their bike in road salt, was too late & missed my opportunity for first wave of the year :(
Pretty sure the bike is covered in salt - but dam I got my fix, let her rip real good, another reminder that I won't need anything faster lol.
There are quite a few even now in January on Kijiji for Ninja 250's - I wouldn't get the ones on the low side of 1k tbh lol, the mid 2K ones look very good though.
If they're certified & run it's good to go. If the intent is to try and keep the bike as long as possible I would just get a Ninja...
I'd recommend getting any reliable Jap bike under 400* CC for 1-2K, you will very likely grow out of the bike faster then you imagine like I did, if you spend too much cash you may regret it once you get the desire for something with more grunt. Would definitely still recommend starting on a...
The only regret I have starting on a 300 was that I bought it from a dealership for ~4k, I wish I'd just bought some 250 or 300 off Kijiji or Craigslist for 1 or 2K max to save the cash, insurance wise I'd went with a bigger Fz07 6 months after the Ninja 300 and the price increase was only about...
Hah little too big for me, would have to be something on the light side to practice some wheelies or skid in the dirt without worry of dropping.
Pampering the FZ too much to actually do some hooligan stuff.
Put the FZ for storage beginning of December.
Planning on eventually getting a 2nd bike, some beater dual-sport that I wouldn't care about getting dirty or covered in road salt to ride in whatever weather including snow. Probably a couple years or so away, content to wait for March now.
