The process for a car is pretty much the same as what is outlined in the first page of this post however it is IMPERATIVE that you check the RIV list of admissible vehicle list before you try to import. If the car is listed as INADMISSIBLE you will not be able to import it no matter what...

Re: mods Those are questions better answered by someone from the RIV. Check the links on the first page... Cuz frankly any answer I'd give you would be hearsay.

For the answer to the above question, you need to call the number that you asked about and ask for an online rating. Off the top of my head I don't know what if any duty is applicable.

Bikes NOT manufactured in the US are NON ADMISSIBLE to Canada unless they are 15 years or older. The numbers listed above are for CBSA Custom information at all 3 terminals in Pearson.

Call 905-676-3640 or 905-676-3537 or 905-612-5416 request an online rating. Tell em what you are going to import and the value the item is in Canadian Dollars. They will be able to tell the amount you can expect to pay upon importation.

No I think it's your turn to contact RIV and the Ministry of Transport and your local MP and take up your beef with them. As for the bike in pieces yes you could import it like that however you will have to ship the peices separately. The last guy that tried to do that didn't ship it...

Importing a Motor Vehicle To Canada (the be all end all)

The frame with title would not be MOTOR VEHICLE  therefore it wouldn't fall under the restrictions outlined. The reason it must be from the US is because the US shares pretty much the same safety standards as the Ministry of Transportation. The standards overseas do not hence said...

Almost you don't have to do the RIV process but the Customs process including Duty&Taxes still applies... Also the title of the bike must say salvage on it.

Re: No Duty on importation of vehicles There is no duty on vehicles manufactured in the United states. There is however a $100 luxury tax if the vehicle has A/C. As for salvage bikes they can be imported but if you want it to be on the road you have to check the requirements for that with...
