Sorry just trying to get my head around this is the bike actually in gear and is it not pulling? If so the comments are likely accurate in clutch however if the bike is actually not grabbing the gear until you let off there could be something else at play a little more mechanical. The spinning...
Real common problem with the ZX7 is the junction box they just go for a poop. If thats what you need dont run an buy one (they are near $200) I have a brand new one in the box I will make you a deal on. Easy to tell. If when you turn on and get nothing just turn a screw driver around and tap...
I am not talking about an air leak. I suspect that if a float was still stuck you would know (puddle under the bike) also check oil level and/smell is offending carb was on intake stroke it will fill a cylinder with raw fuel which then leaks past the rings diluting the engine oil and can cost...
Yup thats fuel. Bike is a ZZR250 I believe and its carbs sooooooooo a guess would be stuck float causing a carb to overfill and leak. If its stopped ride on if its not get it looked at.
Very classy response Hugh. I am sorry about the injury hope your feeling better soon.
Its not always a "crash" sentence when bikes touch. For instance on Sat morning JUST before Hugh's crash I was painting a curb at end of straight so I could eliminate a cone and let the riders see a potential...
Sounds like you already have a direction. Stator or Reg is an easy tell. Just another angle I had a very weird issue with an 09 it would go into limp and then stop altogether with no warning. Drove me freakin mental diag the problem and the result was bizarre. Turned out to be the temp sensor...
Have a look at the shift mech I just had a similar problem with one of my racebikes. The retaining disc loosened and allowed the small pins that the detent arm/forks engage to miss. In my case I couldnt get beyond second, Its a simple look to tell. When looking check the bushings that the shaft...
We have places for 250s to ride. Problem is few do. If we were to see an influx of small bikes they would get a class. I wont do a "spec" class without manufacturer support. I have spoken with Kawi a few years ago about just this and they have NO interest. As for Honda the 125 series was great...
IOM you need to compete (pre-qualify in other Irish road races before the IOM) races like Northwest 200, Ulster etc. To get in those you need an FIM license and generally to get that you need a license from another series and the blessing of the CMA.
Macau is invitation only and generally only...
If wheel is 5.5 go 180
if 6.0 go 190
Dont drink the Dunlop koolaid that says their 190 is engineered for a 5.5 its bull.
5.5 inches is 5,5 inches 190mm is 190mm profile will suffer. I have a 190 on my ZX7 now (drank the koolaid) it has decent traction but turns like a truck.
Hmmmm losing power like out of gas yet just filled and after a bump........tank vent maybe? Open gas cap and try it.
Now that said EVERY engine failure I have seen with these was due to running out of oil. They only hold 1.9L and all burn a bit.
