For a long time I wanted to take the Trail Tours course for a day, but then I decided I'll save myself the $260 and just buy a dirt bike instead.
You can not beat Ganny for a full day of riding dirt bikes.
I try to ride year round. The heated visor really helps with keeping my face warm, I had issues before with my visor freezing from the condensation of my breath. I also have heated gloves and grips, looking for other pieces now.
-9(feels like -18) has been the coldest day I have ridden so far...

Has anyone tried these heated insoles?
Congrats on the new bike. Heed the advice, but buy what it is you really want. Otherwise you will regret it picking the wrong bike to save a couple hundred dollars. The Ninja 300 is a great bike that you can ride for a long time.
I personally would prefer a 250 lb 250cc engine over a 300 lb 300cc(actually 286cc) engine. I am not a big fan of KTM, but I might not have a choice other than Husqvarna and Beta.
The CRF250L suspension and extra weight is what stopped me from buying it. Of course, it all depends on the person...
Dirt bikers usually ride somewhere in Simcoe Forest or Ganaraska Forest, so it shouldn't matter where they live.
Unless you meant dual sport dirt riders who ride their bikes to the trails instead of using a trailer?
The bike looks nice.
The license plate in that spot is very dangerous to ride once you start cornering with the bike leaned over. Once it hits the ground, it can lift your rear wheel off the ground and down you go.
As a new rider you probably have not learned the proper body positioning for...
"CPSC helmets really do work. ... MIPS is a form of slip plane technology, meaning that a MIPS helmet is constructed from two layers that rotate against each other, mimicking the rotation of the brain's own cerebrospinal fluid, which is the body's natural defense against oblique impacts."

I agree with this and quickly took off the wraparound guards on my wife's bike. I still have it one mine, but that is only because I crash enough that I have perfected ejecting myself off the bike most of the time.
You can also loosen off the Brake and Clutch perch enough so it won't move during normal operation, but in an event of a crash it will pivot and not break. My friend Chris Birch told me that.
I crash a lot, so I wear the following:
Helmet
Goggles
Neck Brace
Full upper body armor
Mesh jersey
MX gloves
Hydration pack
Hip/tailbone padded shorts
MX pants
Knee/shin protection
MX boots
Congratulatuons! The 500 Honda bikes are all great bikes.
If you feel confident in your ability to ride, there is nothing stopping you from taking the trip now. I rode 2 up to Cabot Trail after having my license for 5 months.
I had insurance for the Ninja 300 and CB500X at the same time and it was the same, so I don't think I was incorrect in my statement.
The CBR500R "might" be the same.
