I've had the stock seat since 2013 and I've used it on a trip to PEI with no problems. A Seat Concepts or Corbin would probably be more comfortable, but not worth the money for me because I do a lot off offroad and frequently drop the bike.

You can't go wrong with the KLR650, low tech and reliable it is.

I have the Sena SMH10 and there is no problems with wearing foam earplugs and listening to music or talking to my wife. There could be an issue if you don't place the speaker beside your ears though.

I can ride my CB500X through some of the easier singletrack sections of the Simcoe Forest, the Bethany and Creemore rides. All you really need are 50/50 tires like the TKC80 and a skid plate. You will go slower than the dirt bikes obviously.
