Track day Riders... I need help!! Give me tips and tricks.

Do this. You already have enough ticket bait with your license plate position and rear lights, you don't need to attract any more attention with wanna be racer moves on the street.

    Daytona 200

I'm at Daytona International Speedway for the Daytona 200. Not the usual crowd for a motorcycle race.:p I have an extra infield pass, going cheap.

    Jennings March 24 ~ 26

I'm planning a trip to Jennings GP in a couple of weeks. Anyone else planning the same trip?

Those who do ride to the track

Indeed. But when you do, you do it with convincing style.

    Mosport

Yes, there is exciting stuff during the week, Pro6 and Rider's Choice track days Monday to Thursday. And yes, spectators are allowed. Enter at the main gate, tell them you're there for the track day, sign the waiver, you're in. There will be a goodly number of CSBK riders there practicing for...

    I Saw You: V.2.0

Tonight, 407 Eastbound, 6:15 ish, GSXR tag 334##. It was a sad thing to see. Take it easy guy. Riding right behind cars, laying on the tank, just off the left or right corner, moving from lane to lane (but just into each lane) to pass cars. Your crappy HID conversion doesn't help at all, many...

    Calabogie this Weekend

I was at Calibogie this past weekend. I keep reminding myself that this isn’t a regular set of track days at Calabogie. Lining up with the holiday in Quebec can bring a large number of first time riders and others who are not familiar with Calabogie. Sheena is diligent (militant) about placing...

Anyone own a mechanic shop that's willing to press something for me?

I did the front wheel bearings on a small Toyota a couple of weeks ago. A lot more time is spent getting the knuckle out and cutting the bearings than time spent at the press. A press is required to get the old out of the knuckle and the new in.

    Camping at Calabogie

With the soggy Spring this year I wouldn't be surprised if the mosquitos are more numerous that usual. I usually try to find an open windy place to camp. There are a couple of grassy areas, but keep in mind; this is where people will "walk" their dogs.

    Disconnected hose - 05 Honda CBR 600RR

Yes, that is correct. It's the tank overflow.

    Disconnected hose - 05 Honda CBR 600RR

It's probably a vent or overflow for the fuel tank. There is nothing else in there that needs a drain (no carbs, coolant overflow is on the other side, battery is at the back). I may have my bike ('06) apart tomorrow and I can check it out.

    Bomb in Manchester UK

That's not how it currently works. If you come by train, or bus, or boat from continental Europe you don't show your passport to anyone. There isn't anyone there to check your passport. Once you're in Europe, you have a free pass to Great Britain. This is how Brexit came about. I have...

    Any Forensic Photoshop Experts Here

There is a function you can use with Photoshop (or other specific software) called multi image super resolution. It works best when there are very small movements between frames. In this case it would be very tricky. You would need to crop out just the plate in a number of frames, then overlay...

    Scrubbing in tires

I put on 3 or 4 (or 5 or 6) sets of new tires last year. I take off the stickers, then take it easy all the way to the end of pit out.

No, that's as opposed to fully reclined staying home to watch racing on TV while eating potato chips. ;)

where are all the end of season track bike deals??

Apparently it was track prepped by Mikeymoto. It looks the bike in the rear of this shot, but it isn't. It has Mikeymoto stickers, light weight rear rotor and slip-on, but otherwise it needs setup work before it's ready for the track; Slack in the throttle Air in the front brakes Soft front...

Last Pro6 Bogie Event : Questionable Maneuver...

The only problem rider I see in this video is the guy who made the video. This is the Green group, as such you can expect novice riders. There are rules in place to accommodate novice riders. Many of the riders in this video are being led around at a slower pace so they can learn the track...

Last Pro6 Bogie Event : Questionable Maneuver...

I think I've only ever passed one bike 14 to 15, a 250, the only bike mine would "out grunt" sufficiently up that hill. Otherwise I hold back a bit to make up some speed differential at the top of 16, make the pass 16 to 17. Sort of like the second pass in this video.

Last Pro6 Bogie Event : Questionable Maneuver...

To me, this is a poor pass. It's the responsibility of the rider making the pass to do it safely. Sandy was maybe a bit lax at the riders' meeting Monday, almost everyone had been there before and should know the passing rules. Earlier in the year he would go to length explaining passing...
