    HELP - Urgent request for a CBR600F4 regulator/rectifier

My CBR is up for sale, and I have a deposit on a new (to me) CBR650F. It's out of town, and if I don't sell mine over the weekend (don't really expect to) then I will likely trade it in on the new one. I don't want the hassle of trying to store two bikes while I sell one. Anyway, a common...

    Intermittent Power Loss Puzzle

Different bike, but I was having similar problem recently - seemed like fuel delivery, and it turned out it was. One of the wires had broken off of the female connector in the plug - seemed fine to look at it, until I pulled the plug away from the fuel pump relay and the wire popped out. It...

Pedestrian flashing red countdown = don't cross?

Because they've been hit in the head by frustrated passengers so many times, they have no short term memory.

Pedestrian flashing red countdown = don't cross?

there's a standard of reason. There is a significant difference, in both law and common sense (thankfully they coincide) between: "The driver is always at fault", and "The driver must take reasonable steps to avoid a collision". If a ped runs into the street or crosses unlawfully and a driver...

    M2 / G1 Licensing Question

Does it say G1 on your licence? It's true there are certain (and I'm being vague because I don't want to provide incorrect information) things that you are permitted to do, but it doesn't mean you have that class of licence. For example, I've heard that M2 can be used to operate a car UNDER G1...

What are the Ontario regulations / qualifications for a motorcycle instructor ?

The training will be offered by the program you're going to teach (as matt365 described). For the Colleges, the skills are easily transferrable from one to the next because of everyone (except Humber) using CSC curriculum. MTO does not approve instructors. MTO approves "signing authorities"...

    m1 to m2 license

The process has finally been updated to 20th century technology (yes, I know what I did there). We hand out an informative slip that just reminds you of when you can go, but there is nothing you need to take from the school to the DriveTest center. You can go 60 days after the effective date...

    Best place for M1 Exit?

Update on Curriculum Some comments earlier in the thread addressed the issues of similarity between the programs, i.e. that there were essentially the colleges and the private programs. Most colleges were delivering the Canada Safety Council's "Gearing Up" program, and private courses were...

Copy of the M Test (M2X) checklist!

Is that test as good as it appears to be? Only 6 errors, and 66.7% of them were (likely) for going to slow? Well done.

Copy of the M Test (M2X) checklist!

These are the kind of distinctions that never really get explored thoroughly in a "how do i pass the test?" thread. There is nothing wrong with engine braking. It is most definitely "allowed". You have to remember that any time you start to slow down, you must communicate that to the...

Right on Red when Opposite Direction has Left Turn Arrow

OOPS! I should stop using quick reply and read my posts. Missed NOT.

    Queensway / The West Mall

This is an interesting scenario, because I'm sure you guys have also noted that they're often there late in the day. Once the sun starts to set, the "no right on red" sign gets harder to see. At night, it's not illuminated and not that obvious. I wonder if that's a viable defense?

Right on Red when Opposite Direction has Left Turn Arrow

I read Kestrel's post with the simpler interpretation that if you have a red light, you don't have the right of way. If there was a green arrow displayed, I would NOT consider the right turning driver to have a red light, because there is no requirement to stop at all.

Right on Red when Opposite Direction has Left Turn Arrow

If your light is red, and you're turning right, you must come to a stop and you can turn when it can be done safely. It doesn't matter what the circumstances are. Whether oncoming traffic is turning left legally or not, whether there are pedestrians crossing legally or not, or whether the...

M2 Exit Test - for full M license - what to expect?

or actually "NO" is the answer to his very specific question. "It depends" may be better. What to expect? Expect to learn nothing if you're simply looking for tips on how to pass the test. Read through the links provided and try to understand the concepts presented, not the secrets to passing...

    Who parks like this?

It is about exceptions, and it's about how rules are written, not math. That's why it's an exception and why it says "may". You park parallel to the curb, OR you may park at an angle within the prescribed 45 to 60 degrees. Don't know what 45 and 60 look like? Then park parallel. The idea is...
