California bound on an FJR1300 in April

Keep dry/warm get available and shield all your things (including yourself) from getting wet. Many mountain passes can drop below freezing depending on weather. Snowstorms can pop out of no where and cover the whole state. Make sure to keep a close eye on weather and plan appropriate detours...

    Suspended licence (not charged)

Did they specifically say they raised your rates as a result of the note on your file? Or because it happened to increase based on other risk factors? I have a hard time believing they raised your rates because your car has been vandalized because: 1) You did not make a claim 2) A single...

    Notify Insurance of Upgrades?

Probably better to inquire (anonymously) at your insurance company about turbo/engine swaps before actually doing it. Chances are they will say no unless they're specialized insurance. If you notify them, implying that you previously had coverage, they will probably drop you.

    Wheelieboy's off to Colorado/Utah again

At around 11500 ft, it started bogging and would stall very easily. Bike was very slow as well but it was okay for what I was doing. I just hoped it wasnt going to stall at a bad time and force me to put my foot down on a non-existent surface. The bike is already too tall for me, I'm on my very...

    Wheelieboy's off to Colorado/Utah again

Old mining roads everywhere. To think miners used these roads over 100 years ago with horse drawn carriages is kind of nuts compared to what we did. The towns in between are at around 8000ft, mines could be found up to 14000ft. Eventually they used trucks/cars to haul building materials and...

    Wheelieboy's off to Colorado/Utah again

Yup, we actually got used to riding roads like this so it didnt bother us as much. As long as you pay attention to the road its fine. The hardest and most dangerous road we rode was the Black Bear Pass. So dangerous that this is the only pass that rental jeeps are banned from. You either take...

Pulled over for obstructed tag in North York

I had a competition werks plate relocator on my CBR600RR also mounted under the battery tray...bought it this way from the previous owner. Been pulled over for it once but no ticket. At first glance, you can clearly see it from behind if you're standing behind it. But if I were to hang a few...

    T.O to California in 14days

lol! I dont think my route included 4 corners, but I also went there since the sign said it was only 20 miles off my route. Disappointment as well...just a plaque to see, and native indian booths all around to sell you local stuff. At least I got to try frybread.

    Wheelieboy's off to Colorado/Utah again

Well, I was off the grid for a while, camping in the back woods of Silverton with the bears, foxes, and deer. Freaking cold dropping to 3 degrees at night and raining. Spent the last few days riding mountain passes with amazing views, up to 13500 ft. Exploring abandoned mines/mills, traveling...

    Wheelieboy's off to Colorado/Utah again

So we finally got to ride offroad today after the long drive. Started off with a difficult mountain pass and man was it difficult. Big rocks everywhere, probably 6 inch by 6 inch creating the road up, we made it up to 11000ft and with all the energy we used trying to keep the bikes up, I...
