Better to ride in the rain than not ride at all. Invest in good quality rain gear (you won't regret it) and hope you don't have to use it very often. With todays great quality tires riding in the rain is no issue....as long as you can see...ride safe

Ordered Genmar risers today, get pretty good reviews and a heck of a lot cheaper than Helibars, however only 3/4" raise on the bars....hope this helps as the Blackbird is a beast and my ego would miss the power for sure

Have you looked at the Honda 300? only a single cylinder but ABS available and silky smooth. Check out the youtube comparisons as for a new rider Honda is often the winner

Strange but collision on the Blackbird was so small was not worth dropping. What I am paying now ($1550) was the best I could find.

Hi All: Insurance savings certainly a consideration as the Blackbird insurance has gone up 50% in the last 3 years and fewer companies will even cover it. GSX650F $640 per year and Bird $1,550 with clean record, 40 years riding experience (which means little to them)
