I have read several reports of issues with the ducati hypermotard (non and SP versions), it seems like Ducati is struggling to find a fix for this particular issue.

So, your example of MV Agusta reliability is based on a 2000 machine (video posted 4 years ago)? The issues people are reporting with 821 have nothing to do with MV. I have 18,000 on my F4 without a single issue and my wife has just under 10,000kms and needed the Sprag-clutch replaced...

He has had the bike for 5 months but managed to put over 35,000kms on it in that period of time. Even though the bike shouldn't be breaking down this often; it is far from a "New" bike.

Take the Brutale 800 for a ride, It is an amazing bike, very light, good power with amazing handling and all the "toys" (traction control, abs, quick shifter,etc). My wife managed to put 10,000kms on hers this summer and the only issue was with a rear brake cylinder that developed a leak...

Personal experience? I was involved in an motorcycle accident (hit from behind) this past summer. The bike was written off. I received a very fair compensation cheque in less than 10 days. I am with Allstate. I have 2 SS bikes insured with them.
