The Reasonably Priced Used Motorcycles for Sale Thread

To quote the ad: "Bike runs and drives like a dream , very comfortable bike hasn't even seen its 2nd oil change yet low km". Only 9,800 kms, so very low, but only 1 oil change in nearly 10 years? I wonder if it looks like sludge?

Ran into a cage when another guy waved him out of a parking lot and right into my pat

We don't know how the law is interpreted. I've seen enough "Do not block intersection" and "Do not block driveway" signs to make me believe the law you cited is not so black and white when it comes to city streets.

Stupidly overpriced motorcycle for sale thread

The mid-summer Suzuki promo has kicked in, so new 2017's are now $7999 and come with a 5 year warranty., making this guy's price even more absurd.

    Omni-Cruise tips

Yeah, I would still put the provided rubber band over the grip tape so that the contact friction material is still the same. Essentially just trying to fatten the bar/grip a bit under the rubber band to slightly increase the friction to the point of not releasing due to simple vibration.

    Omni-Cruise tips

Could try a band of black hockey tape instead. That should provide plenty of grip, and is cheaper than the 3M stuff from Home Depot.

Peel officer charged in Mississauga crash that killed motorcyclist

I wonder if the average citizen will now be able to cite this case and use the "momentary inattentiveness" excuse to get off a dangerous driving charge. Probably not, simply because the charge wasn't beat in court, but simply never logged, so the precedent doesn't really exist.

PSA: Kerosene is better and way cheaper than name brand chain cleaners

Nice technique OP! I don't care what y'all use to clean or lube your chains, but try not to spray whatever you use all over your tires like @ 1:15 - 1:25 in this video. Nobody wants a nasty surprise when they lean into a turn.

    Buying a motorcycle with lien

From the MTO website(http://www.mto.gov.on.ca/english/dandv/vehicle/used.shtml#liens): The lender must register a clearance within 30 days If the lender has not registered a clearance, you can write a notice to the lender requiring them to pay you - $500 and any damages resulting from not...

Urgent - Mississauga & area need OEM chain kit installed today or tomorrow.

Uh, No. That's what a chain breaker and riveter is for. MacDoc - don't let Ash change your chain and sprockets.

    urk!

Yep. And a boat load of luck too. He should be thankful he managed to ride away from that exchange. Raging while on a bike is often a losing proposition.

    2017 Demo rides/events

GPBikes will generally let you test ride the Triumph's and Ducati's anytime, no demo day required (essentially the same process as test driving a car without the salesperson ride-along). Just call to make sure they have what you're looking for available for a test ride, and schedule a time so...

    Hating new bike

I have a 2006 SV650S (purchased new). As I aged and the type of riding I do changed, the position with the clip-ons became pretty uncomfortable on long rides (600+ km days). I did the LSL Superbike bar conversion a couple years ago, which made a huge difference. See the following video for...

    Hating new bike

Ah, the old SV325. The recess for the front spark plug fills with water and shorts the front plug, causing a misfire, effectively running on only the rear cylinder: 1. There is a drain hole that comes out of the right-hand side of the head. It will fill with bugs and dirt and no longer allow...

    Hating new bike

I own a 2006 SV650S. 1. Twins will have some vibration. Just the nature of a twin. Some things that can be checked to ensure vibrations are minimized. Synchronize the throttle bodies. Ensure engine mounting bolts are properly torqued. Since your bike is not showroom fresh, both of these...

    Question for you lane splitters

I've seen it a couple of times recently during my morning commute, Hwy 7 eastbound along the Bayview to 404 section, a motorcycle using the bicycle lane to pass traffic. No impact on my commute, but i wish him luck when he gets caught.

    Lower leg/foot injuries and motorcycling

It was about 9 months of physio, give or take a bit. Each benefit plan had $500 of coverage. Initial consultation was $75 I think, with each visit thereafter costing $50. After 4 weeks in a hard cast there is 0 muscle and 0 flexibility. Plus I had surgery, so there was a pretty good...

    Lower leg/foot injuries and motorcycling

Must have been a partial tear if surgery could be avoided. That's good (looking on the bright side here!). I chewed through my physio benefit, and my wife's, paid out of pocket for bit, then the benefits reset on January 1st and I basically continued physio until it ran out again. I feel for...

    Lower leg/foot injuries and motorcycling

2 years ago. Mother's Day weekend. 100% rupture of my left Achilles tendon. Surgery the next day. 4.5 weeks in a plaster cast (1 replacement at 2 weeks), followed by 6 weeks in an AirCast (removed around the house after my rugrats were in bed later in the 6 weeks). I didn't get on the bike...
