The Reasonably Priced Used Motorcycles for Sale Thread

I have the uneasy feeling that someone will scoop up that bike and turn it into a cafe project. Too bad if that happens. Nice find though.

Four days round trip from Kingston suggestions

A friend and I are planning a Thursday to Sunday trip late this month. Kingston is home base. We've done New York, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, Vermont, etc. in the past. Thinking of staying in Canada this time, partly due to poor exchange rate. Any route suggestions that would fit in our...

Anyone having problems selling a bike?

Pretty sure MSRP was more than 11g's in 2011. My point was that PDI and taxes are on the purchaser, so don't expect to recoup those costs.

    Africa Twin

I test rode a 2013 Tenere. Awesome bike and very well balanced, making it easy to ride. But it's heavy and I'm short, and I thought the combo might hurt me at some point, especially with a passenger increasing COG. The Africa Twin definitely looks interesting. I noticed a sold one sitting on...

Anyone having problems selling a bike?

As meme posted, I also base used values off of MSRP. PDI and taxes do not factor into the calculation. PDI is the penalty for buying new, and I have to pay my own taxes when I register the bike so why should I help you recoup your taxes too? My formula is to start with MSRP and deduct 20%...

Stupidly overpriced motorcycle for sale thread

I'm sure there was no insurance claim at all, otherwise the bike would be fixed, so I'm also certain the bike hasn't been officially written off. The amount of damage and cost of repair back to original condition would put it close to that category though.

Stupidly overpriced motorcycle for sale thread

That bike would probably be written off if it was an insurance claim. Things I can see = upper and lower fairing, handlebars, levers, mirror, muffler, left side foot peg and shifter. Possible other damage = seat, rear cowling, gas tank, forks, triple trees, radiator, brake rotor. It would...

vehicles passing on the right in my own lane

The left tire track is not the correct position in all situations. That may be what they teach at various courses, and is a good baseline, but real-world situations are not always black and white. The correct lane position is the one that prevents others from encroaching on the space you need...

vehicles passing on the right in my own lane

If I'm hanging a right and watching traffic coming from my left, I would rather have the person sneak up on my left side so I'm not taken by surprise when I start to make my move.

vehicles passing on the right in my own lane

The right blocking position is the position that blocks people from taking space in your lane next to you. That does not always mean the left tire track or the right tire track, but the position that gets the job done for the current circumstances.

Are you sure it'll fit? Having never seen you I have no idea. What's the backup plan if you get there and can't squeeze into it? Edit: currently raining in Markham btw.

    Purchasing a Motorcycle! HELP!!

This plan just went from bad to worse. Subscribed for the entertainment to follow. Most likely, nothing will happen, but lets say you have some bad luck on the way home. Really bad luck. You swerve to dodge a ball that rolled out onto the street, lose control, and take out the 5-year old kid...

    Is Electric Motorcycles the future?

True, but it shouldn't be any more challenging than the current setup like propane cylinders at service stations, and normal fuel distribution. The electricity is everywhere, but the charging stations still need to be setup. Sure, you can juice at home if you install a convenient 220V outlet...

    Is Electric Motorcycles the future?

Hydrogen fuel cell. Honda has had the FCX Clarity car for years now. I think Toyota now also has one. Fill time as fast as petrol fuel. Similar driving range. H2O exhaust. I think there are cold weather challenges, but otherwise it seems pretty promising. Not sure why it hasn't gained...

    Is Electric Motorcycles the future?

I'm a bit surprised that Tesla hasn't entered the electric bike market. Their California home turf is a pretty big market, and they probably have the most developed charging station infrastructure. Scooping up Mission Motorcycle for cheap, changing the charging connector to the Tesla variety...
