    First accident

This outcome is somewhat tragic. Sped read through most of it, but such a shame insurance was involved in the first place. OP likely could have paid a grand or two to fix it up and be done with (especially after seeing those pics – bike looked great). Second mistake was not inquiring about...

    Toronto To Montreal.

Yes, I've ridden a few times from Toronto to Ottawa and it was an amazing and scenic route, every time. The problem is, I planned my trip so it was more about the ride than the destination. If you stay North of the 401 you can hit some great roads. The problem is, it's almost a full day of...

Motorcyclist sought in collision that left young boy with life-threatening injuries

Riding without insurance and a license aside, you have to be a low human being to be capable of taking off after a massive collision that likely would have killed the kid. He left the kid behind like roadkill. Unfathomable.

    HOV Lane....fingers crossed everyone

Well then screw that I'm using my car on Don Mills HOV lanes all the time during rush hour. A one time ticket that won't affect your insurance makes it worth the brutal backlog during rush hour. Especially when the odds of getting caught are pretty low.

    Increased hwy speed limit

100%! Probably easier not to speed as a tourist because of this vs a local who frequents the roads much more often.

    Anyone ride the Ontario Highlands?

I had to LOL. You're like a magnet for attracting wildlife to your front wheel. I've been riding for most of my life and I've only ever hit 2 chipmunks. *Knocks on wood.

    Increased hwy speed limit

Seriously wouldn't let it deter you from experiencing the Swiss Alps. The worst part is the ridiculously high prices for everything... it's not a cheap place, so best to pass through after a day or so if riding. The memories there are unforgettable (in a good way). Here's a ride report of the...

    Increased hwy speed limit

I think the worst riders/drivers are the foreigners like us. Many European countries (like Germany, Austria) I've visited take driving and the rules more seriously then here. There is a much more notable skill involved somehow. So yes, we're doomed here in Ontario unfortunately.

Rented. 2012 it was outside England, and in 2013 it was in Munich, Germany. There are so many places that rent unlike here. A lot of motorcycle dealerships rent out their new bikes, that's what happened in 2013 with the Triumphs we rented.

Very familiar with Andermatt, been there twice and rode the grimsel , furka And san gottard. Missed the susten because it was closed due to snow fall unfortunately. Is andermatt where they were stopped?

Oops, I added spoiler... good point. I hear you but the transition just seemed way too fast and exaggerated.

    TV shows currently watching

SPOILER: After watching episode 5 last night with the dragon queen going on a tear killing all the innocent people, her own, etc. and becoming evil, that really didn't make ANY sense. Huge disconnect just to add drama for the sense of it. She could have easily killed Censei in the castle and...

    Increased hwy speed limit

That is intense... the zero alcohol can get you in a lot of trouble if you had a beer over lunch, something I did a day or two while taking in the views on a hot sunny day in the alps, something I didn't even think about at the time. Either way don't let this vid deter you from visiting...

    HOV Lane....fingers crossed everyone

Yes, there is a thing called agile office that is starting to slowly show up here. When I went to work in London England in 2012, they had this already in place, and it meant that we worked 2-3 days in office and 2-3 days offsite at home or wherever we wanted. It worked great.

    Anyone ride the Ontario Highlands?

I explored some of the these roads two up wth my wife last year on the GS and fell in love with Ontario roads. We did a two day ride up to Burks Falls, lake Bernard more specifically. Aside from getting a deep cut on my finger while jumping in a canoe, it was an incredible trip. Stayed at the...

    Increased hwy speed limit

This is part of why riding in Europe is an absolute pleasure. Especially when riding the alps, those speed limits do not mess around. I'm a seasoned rider and I found myself going well below the speed limit at times and still flying at a pretty good pace. I few times I tried to keep up to the...

    HOV Lane....fingers crossed everyone

Your wife sounds like a very rational person with an exceptionally wise perspective. ;) To answer your question, if we're talking 400 series highways I don't think the person in the HOV lane should have to move over since 99% of the time it wouldn't be legal to do so with the solid double line...

Lane splitting at a red light?

As much as I'd love to see it, with the way people drive and their me-first mentality here in Ontario I don't see lane splitting ever becoming legal or safe here.
