Who's still riding? (Fall & Winter 2024 Edition)

Don't confuse railway with Marine Railway. Similar but different. Marine railway is like the one at Big Chute.

Who's still riding? (Fall & Winter 2024 Edition)

Lorne Street follows the right of way of the 1877 Grand Trunk Railway. It veers to the right near the lake, where it extended onto a wharf where ice was loaded onto rail cars to ship to Toronto. The present Ramada Inn was the location of the ice houses in the nineteenth century.

Who's still riding? (Fall & Winter 2024 Edition)

You are correct. There is an off shoot to the right. It might have been named Bonnie Blvd. at one time. There has been a lot of screwing around there in recent years. Don't get me started! Though I think you have!!

Who's still riding? (Fall & Winter 2024 Edition)

Ah Yes! My mistake. The piles of snow make everything look the same. You were at the end of Lorne Street. (y)

Who's still riding? (Fall & Winter 2024 Edition)

That's exactly where you were, Tom. The piles of snow in front of your bike in your pic, would be behind the vehicles in the Google pic. Last time I saw you ride through JP, I hopped on my bike and flew up there right behind you, hoping I might catch you admiring the scenery. I guess you had a...

What did you do in your garage today..?

There are 4 tiny little steel detent balls and 2 springs, all about 1/8" diameter, that fit inside a sleeve on the end of the spool (pictured). I had new replacements, one of which went flying away like a bullet as I tried to assemble it all under spring tension. I crawled around on the floor...

What did you do in your garage today..?

Not exactly today, though today I'm cleaning up the mess. My Bobcat has been dribbling out fluid for a long time and it has been getting progressively worse. It's like a Harley Davidson, in that you can tell where it's been by the trail. :) I finally installed new spool valve seals, just in...

    Yikes - spare key cost

I don't know about other makes, but both my old Ford truck and my new one, came with 2 keys. There is a procedure that allows you to program several more by yourself, if you have 2 working keys. Saving hundreds of dollars I got spares online, had a locksmith cut them, and programmed them myself.

    TD Meloche..........

I've had TD on everything for years. TD direct that is; no Meloche BS. That's a completely different company. I've had a few claims and could not have asked for a better experience with all of them. That's why I've stayed with them.

The "Official" Watch Thread and all Things Horological

With a non-rotating bezel, calling it a "dive watch" is a misnomer. Reminds me of a certain carbon fibre submarine. That didn't work out too well.
