True. Some power cruisers have mid-mount controls, feet below the rider. Harley Street Rod (the old 2006 model not the new one) had mid-mount controls as well as kits to move the pegs back.
I agree with you 100%.
However, like previous discussions on ABS, a lot of people will argue that this is a safety net technology and not a replacement for technique.
"Ya ya, you do over-the-shoulder blind-spot checks all the time. But this radar technology will save you the ONE time that you...
Seeing as how we're at the beginning of a new quarter century, what are your wishes and thoughts for two-wheeled powered travel in another 25 years?
Will there be flying motorcycles?
Here are some fanciful things I'd like to see in motorcycling:
- Lightweight, almost invisible protective...
Also, Gen Alpha (those born between 2010-2024) will blame Millennials for ruining the economy and the Earth, and making life generally unbearable for them.
That should be interesting and funny to witness.
"Ok, Millennial "
Succinctly put. That was the point I was trying to make earlier.
If you buy a bike that was designed to go off-road, but you don't take it off-road, the onus is on you to modify it to suit your purposes.
"I'm looking to buy a firefighter suit"
"Oh, do you fight fires?"
"No, I just like the...
Seems like many motorcycle owners are always trying to hide the stock mirrors or tuck them out of sight - with aftermarket bar end mirrors, blade-style mirrors, etc.
I wonder if a rear-camera system pushing a feed onto the bike's TFT screen will be the way of the future? Kinda like Tesla's...
It wouldn't be 50/50 weight distribution, no. But having your knees bent at more than a 90 degree angle puts some natural tension/spring on the leg muscles, so even if there isn't active pressure on the pegs (as if you were standing on them), the semi-contracted muscles are passively supporting...
You're right, it's so very subjective.
I can't sit for long periods of time with my legs forward with all of my weight on my butt.
Comfortable for me means shoulders, hips and heels all in a vertical line, with good distribution of weight on both the seat and footpegs. Also allows you to shift...
Neither have I.
Hypers are funny beasts. They're not typically a rider's primary bike. More of a second... or third motorcycle in their garage. The 698 more so than the 950, I suspect.
I'm waiting for my local dealer to get some 2025 698s in stock, so that they turn the 2024 RVE that's...
Yeah, the style of bikes seem to go in waves.
70s choppers
late-80s-90s sportbikes
early 2000s sport-tourers
last decade or so have been ADVs
next wave will be electrics?
If the manufacturers don't have an official booth, sometimes a local dealer will step up and bring some of their lineup to the show.
This last show a couple of weeks ago there wasn't an official Ducati booth, but Ducati Toronto did set up a booth and they brought about 10-15 bikes from their...
Is that related to that grotesque accident that you got into a few years ago, which left you unable to ride motorcycles for quite a while...?
What was it again?
Finger got stuck in a ring...?
Fine.
