Wear on top portion of drive chain rivets.

Thanks runner001, just getting back into it and I don't know if they even made this types of chain when I was riding 30 years ago ! And although I may have been the exception, but me and most of my group didn't pay nearly as much attention to chain maintenance in those days. No excuse these...

Wear on top portion of drive chain rivets.

Thanks Trials, I am going to take most fairings off next oil change and taking a peek inside the sprocket cover is one of the jobs on the list. So building on the thoughts and suggestions provided I decided to just let the chain get dirty again and see if the "wear" showed up again, and yes the...

Wear on top portion of drive chain rivets.

Having a hard time getting decent pictures. So when I said upper portion I should have said inside portion of rivet. Will keep trying in different light. It's like that peen on the rivet is shiny and larger than the other peens. Haven't had the front sprocket cover off yet. Can anyone tell me...

Wear on top portion of drive chain rivets.

Did a google and searched this site, negative results. Something is causing the upper third of my chain rivets to be worn down slightly. Is this a common problem, any usual suspects ? Otherwise the chain looks perfect. Noticed this while cleaning and tensioning chain. Only had the bike 3 weeks...

    Slip on exhaust

A good law would be that all motorcycles comply with oem standards. Mobile inspection stations combined with issuance to local traffic officers forms to require attendance at the inspection station. Back in the day these were called cv-3's and were like candy to a traffic cop. Catch your little...

Back in the saddle after ~10 years - mature enough for a 600 this time around?

I think Gen two Cats make 100 horsepower. Mine came with a throttle and probably hasn't made 70 horses since I bought it. I bet the OP could do that as well. It's what's between your ears that counts.

Old guy, new to me bike, passion revived.

Yes , 62 to be exact, but still working out with lots of stretching. I have about 1500km on the bike in the week and a half I have owned it with nothing more than the usual discomfort associated with sitting for long periods. Even in my younger days I found it wise to get off and take a break...

Old guy, new to me bike, passion revived.

Was looking at R6 or even R1 at the start. Then I spotted the Cat nearby and amazingly reasonable for a 2 up trackable bike. Deal broke down twice before getting it done. I think the Cat chose me.

Old guy, new to me bike, passion revived.

Thanks folks. Enjoying the heck out of this bike. My 750 redlined somewhere around 9 so this thing at 13200 is a real thrill. PrivatePilot I flew up until 2002, bought a farm and just wasn't getting a kick out of it anymore. Plus the cost was getting silly. Got my night rating , which was a...

Old guy, new to me bike, passion revived.

Got my M in about 1973 on my first bike, an 850 Commando. Gave up my 750 Honda SS in about 1980 due to family commitments. Got the bug this winter, shopped a lot, and finally bought a YZF600R from a great guy locally. One week ago. Due to other commitments and weather only put 1000 k on her so...
