I'm not too fussed about tire brands as in my mind most are good but one of my criteria for my sport tourer has been a tire that didn't have a high wear factor. I was averaging about 9K per year with soft compound tires but don't do any aggressive riding so got tired of replacing them annually...
I bought two Toyotas in the last two years. Dealer would not change the oil at the initial 5K inspection telling me its due at the one year or 10K mark. For both vehicles I insisted on an oil change at the 5K visit and they tried to talk me out of it. For the low cost of the new oil/filter...
Kudos to the guys at Riders Choice who certified my bike yesterday.
One day earlier I had set up the appointment. I arrived a few minutes early and they took the bike in and had it all wrapped up the 20min they quoted. Thanks guys.
Will qualified dealers allow the bike Owner to stand and review the safety inspection process of a bike?

I've been interested in an old Honda dirt bike that might make for a good project.
No ownership apparently and the serial sticker shows a few scuff marks that look hand made. It's almost 55yrs old and I'm thinking it could have been a victim of theft.
Any warning issues I should know about...
Has anyone used these?
They are limited to 500 # per ramp.. My bikes are just in excess of that so I wonder if it was exceeded abit as to whether they would hold up?

The newer techs in dealerships have limited exposure to old school items like carb rebuilds and syncing, point/condenser ignitions.
Best to look for small garage oriented mechanics. There is one in Georgetown I think Twin Seasons and Robert in Mississauga that I have relied on. Cash goes...
