    batteries

Nothing but good luck with the batteries from Kapscomoto out in Durham. Cheap, and at their prices, you can get a fresh one each year for 4 years for the cost of a Yuasa. On year 3 for my vfr, despite my erratic riding schedule. Always on a tender for hiatuses more than a few weeks.

To train or not to train?

100% encouraged and highly recommended. Even more important in our geographical region since we almost start back from square one every spring due to winter cutting our season by 25-50%. As life continues, I take every chance I get to go riding. Even if I only have 30 minutes, I'll go to a big...

Top Coat F11 - anyone use it?

Lots of product testing RE: durability, ease of application compared to other brands and products on youtube from current professionals. What are you looking for in a coating product Rob? Supreme durability / ease of application / cheap? Bikes are small, so even the most complicated...

Mesh Jacket too cold for most nights?

I use the uniqulo heattech shirts.. they were on sale for $8.99 or close to that a few weeks ago. Just another option to go under the mesh jackets. On the really weird/long days, I'll often use my liners from my cold weather jacket with my Revit airwave and it works wonderfully for the early...

    New Site

Tried that, didn't work.. removed the character before the https as well as the * after avatars and both either "Failed, download failure" or "Failed, not a valid filters list". Any pointers?

    New Site

Few suggestions: (mainly for desktop, not mobile) Would love the ability to turn off other posters' avatars.. couldn't find that one in the settings. Would also like to bring back the "view in print mode" to convert to printer-friendly (or work friendly) format, stripping all avatars/signatures.

TIL: solo riders are not allowed in the diamond lanes on the 400-series highways

Did someone say filter? Just kidding. (Yes, I complete my filter in the 2-3 seconds it takes to change from red to green if I'm a car or two back and the first in line leaves a massive gap)

Scooter rental - hit and run or am I being taken advantage of?

Hi Folks, Hoping to get your thoughts on next best actions regarding a situation with a scooter rental company. When signing over rental contracts, there was no point where we walked around the scooter, pointing out any damages that were pre-existing. There was also no choice of scooter, I...

    Breadcrumb apps for IOS

Hi Folks, Does anyone have experience with a good GPS 'breadcrumb' app that tracks where you ride? I often wander aimlessly on a day ride but have difficulty remembering all the sites and cool areas that I encounter after a long ride back home. I suppose it is like a gps tracker, but more...

    Renting abroad: Rome or Florence?

Hi folks, Are there any good reasons why you would rent from once city vs the other? (Trip in May) My itinerary is quite flexible, and the only thing set is my flight back to Toronto from Rome. I've found promising outfits from both cities, and intend to spend most of my time between Florence...

Puncture.. a bloody clothes-hanger? Fixable or replace?

Should I fix or replace? This rear Pilot Sport Radial has done ~12,000kms, holds air, and still has 5/32" tread left.

    Really **satisfying** charitable work

Hi folks, Joking aside (there are many), do you know or partake in any charitable work that really make a difference? I've noticed that my happiness for the past while has been flatlining (not depressed, but just an overall irritation at chaos in the rest of the world), and am looking for a...

TURN KEY 500 Sunday August 23rd, 2015 Rain or Shine

Something that popped on my radar today. No affiliation. I might try if the weather is good. All day in the rain isn't too appealing. http://turnkey500.com/ride-details-june21st-2015.php

    Other uses of kerosene ?

Hi, I use kerosene to keep my knives from rusting when camping... besides using it to clean my chain, could I wipe down the frame/forks/metal on the bike to limit rust? Aka: Spraybottle or wipe on rag, and wipe on metal surfaces liberally? My (carbureted) bike's no show-winner, and will get...

    HJC RPHA 10 Evoke $219 vs Shoei RF1200 ($530)

Howdy folks, Please help me choose one of the aforementioned helmets. The HJC is currently on closeout for $219 (link) but I had always planned for an RF1200 as soon as they come out with a graphic that I like. (I hate all RF1200's that are currently available). PS: I understand that the RPHA...

401, gridlock, decent weather: which is safer? filter between lanes, or on a shoulder

Hi folks, Not really debating the legality of it. Say you're still alert and not fatigued, but are 5 hours into a return trip back to the GTA core. You are going to filter, but which is the safest 'lane' or shoulder to filter? I'm still pretty "green", only about 7k's in my first season, but a...

    Key cutting or duplication

Howdy folks, Anyone have a key cut for them recently in the York Region area? My old guy Craig Security on Yonge has relocated.. looks like Woodbridge. I don't pretend to know all there is to know about key cutting, but I spent a good 20 minutes rapid-firing calls to locksmiths and 411...
