Adventures of crashing in Vietnam, breaking my leg

I highly recommend grabbing a set of space bags and vacuum sealing it during transit from Canada. Riding gear takes up so much damn space, but carry-on only quickly becomes a reality.

Has anyone every needed or wished that they had an IDP?

$25 or $20usd to bribe whomever stopped you, your choice. I'd go with the IDP. Didn't need (nor asked) for one in Bali (renting scooter) Didn't need in France. (car) I don't recall needing one in Italy (car and bike)

    Upcoming San Fransisco Trip

Another option: I did Yosemite/Big Sur earlier in August and between the two (6+ hours down PCH to Big Sur vs 4 hours slabbing to Yosemite). Nature-wise, I felt like Yosemite was more impressive without going on extensive hikes. I would skip Santa Cruz too, maybe Monterey would have been...

Clean slate garage / Shed recommendations

Are the walls painted? I like full gloss on ceilings and top 2/3 of the walls, and a full gloss grey on the lower 1/3rd to hide bumps and dirt better. Doesn't have to look pretty, I painted mine before moving in and had intentions of hiding the transition between white and grey on the walls with...

Recommend to me a good chiro

I prefer and recommend treatment that addresses pain caused by muscle imbalance/tightness vs "snap, crackle, pop" treatments. Not much to add since I don't have personal experience with practitioners out your way. (Mine are all in North York)

    Do you know this scumbag?

It is a further shame that many condo management offices' charge absurds amount of money to provide replacement fobs and do a bit of paperwork. Which leads to a black market for cheap duplicates... rinse and repeat.

I assume switching cars with her on the long-haul days is out of the real of possibility w.r.t company car policies?

Need a garage door opener. Belt, chain or side-mount?

If you have an old door with old tracks and metal wheels, regardless of what opener you use, the majority of noise will still be there. Replaced both doors with composite earlier this year, and the new wheels (feels like poly bushing material) and track made a significant reduction in noise.

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

Sure, probably because GT3-RS money also begets a Model S 100D Performance in the garage for the "non manual / DD duty". Traffic over there.. my lord. In Toronto? I 100% would Model S > v12 whatever. What we have within 2-3 hours of a drive as "fun roads" pale in comparison to the elevation and...

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

Can't hear ya in the rear view mirror. I agree 100%, but driving through Cali with a Model S, I didn't once wish I had a 911 or M-car instead. Ok I lied, maybe during the tunnel runs through Yosemite valley, but that was a very tiny portion of the trip.

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

Came back a few weeks ago after a solo "Camping in California" with a well-used, 2015 Model S 85D with 150,000km. Wonderful experience chasing mountain tops, 2500km over 4 days, full autopilot even in the canyons. Autopilot was a lifesaver on the late-night stints and when stuck in gridlock...

Paint sealant yes or no ?

I see a time and place for $$$ ceramics, and the only applications where I'd recommend them for would be garage queens that are not driven often, but would still see regular washes and is NOT exposed to the regular elements/rain. The benefit is that the coating will last 2-4 years. They do take...

Mesh Gear That Will Hold Up to a Slide?

I haven't checked in a while, but are there jackets with superfabric in the skid areas? Friend has gone down in revit airwave (gen 1) jacket and pants, and they both held up okay.. I think it is classified as a textile jacket. His gloves with superfabric barely changed in appearance, maybe a...

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

I watched this yesterday: The insight really seems like the perfect DD for the Ontario area.. glad we don't have plentiful hills to necessitate the gasoline generator singing at full hum. Larger than a Volt.. looks like a regular Accord. Essentially a Volt 2.proper?

My Insurance Dropped From $1,047 to $876 (A Year)

Age? And your username would seemingly indicate that you're from the KW area, so your rates are always gonna be in the realm of "fantasy land" for the rest of us in the GTA (specifically Peel and Markham region)

Dealing with back pain & riding.

    + Why we crash +

Was not aware of this thread previously, so I'll add my friend's story to encourage new riders to buy absolute shitboxes for your first ride. In his first year riding my ex500 (admittedly a shitbox that idgaf about) up north, he found himself on a farming road that was all dirt. Rounded a...
