Repairing / replacing carbon fibre shell of exhaust

Found a very rare exhaust (Devil Shotgun) and need to fix it up a bit. The pipes are in good shape and so are the tips. Just need to clean up the carbon fibre shell on the cans and in doing so replace all the rivets. I don't care if I lose the Devil labels, because I actually prefer the clean...

What are conditions on Southwood 13 , 26 (Frank Miller), 7 thru Port Sandfield to 632 to Rosseau

That's the connector road to the hwy when you are eithe rstarting or finishing a route. Also a couple cheap reserve gas stations on that road. It's a wide open sweepers, but a fair bit of traffic, so be mindful.

    Quebec is hilly!

About 100km east of Mont Tremblant the road sufaces improve a fair bit, but yes, the area around Mont Tremblant has been horrible for over 10 years!

Does the Garmin 396 just suck?

That makes sense - I used to have some wonky things happen with my older Nuvi550, which was a motorcycle GPS. Sometimes it would lead me down a dead end road or onto an atv trail. The newer Zumo's are much better, but I found that on my Canada Day ride, both the new XT and Google maps tried to...

    Quebec is hilly!

The north shore is awesome. Surprisingly, it's very twisty and hilly for the 40km or so heading into Natashquan, near the very end of the #138.

The Ontario Tail of the Dragon

The Tunnel Lake Trading Post also sells 129 swag. The nearby #546 towards Elliot Lake is supposed to be a really nice road, but I forget to check it out everytime I've been up there.

The Ontario Tail of the Dragon

I've ridden it a few times. Thessalon is in the south and Chapleau is at the north end. If you are riding it, the best section is the bottom half. The northern half is much more straight and made me sleepy. There is a gas station pretty close to the halfway mark, where it intersects with Ranger...

Does the Garmin 396 just suck?

Which Garmin do you have? On all my long rides, the time shown on any GPS (XT, 590, Zumo 550 and Nuvi 550) is usually really close to Google Maps and the newer ones also take into account potential stops, speed changes and so on. Most Garmins will also allow you to choose the route calculation...

Does the Garmin 396 just suck?

The Zumo XT is larger than the 396, but not that big. It's an excellent unit. Sorry I have no insight into the 396, other than I have a wired cradle mount for the 396 that came with one of my bikes, if anyone wants it.

Canada Day Ride - Sunrise to Sunset

Here you go - this is the route broken into 3 parts using Google Maps. Mississauga to Calabogie Calabogie to Huntsville Huntsville to Mississauga The route is just roads I wanted to ride on, because I like them. I wanted to hit up some of my favourite roads including Desert Lake Rd, Opinicon...

    Gaspe 2024

I've done a few solo trips with 7-14 days worth of riding and find it very therapeutic. Travelling with others is great for the company and travelling alone is great for really being in the moment and changing it up at any point.

    Gaspe 2024

I got a long ways to go before I'm retired. Maybe @ToSlow will be up for a klr ride.

    Gaspe 2024

Normally I would agree, but the appeal of going to Gaspe when I've been wanting to ride there for 20yrs is too great. Especially vs. going back to Deals Gap which I've been to many times, so I can either go there for a fall colours ride or next year.

    Gaspe 2024

Unfortunately for me, I can only get a regular week off work, so if I took the week of the 5th-9th off, I would have to leave on the 3rd or 4th, just to be able to make it back home by 10th. I need Sunday the 11th as a day to get caught up on work (before actually going back to work), so I can't...

    Gaspe 2024

That could work great, since that’s just after the Quebec construction holidays. I’ll plan some general routes out and let me know if there’s anything specific you want to see or do.

    Hit by Cager

Great advice and also draw it out as a diagram of who was where in relation to the layout of the roads, direction of travel, north orientation, weather, and so on. Just like a collision report.

    Gaspe 2024

A trip to Gaspe wouldn’t be crazy mileage. That’s a trip for going a bit slower and stopping and seeing stuff. If I had to guess it would be 2 days to get there, 3 days riding around and then 2 days to get home. I’d have to map it out, but I’d guess the days getting there and back would be...
