    Bluetooth, where to start!

I have the Pactalk Bold which might be a bit more than you need for simple rider to passenger comm’s, but I do really like the speaker sound quality and overall volume and the battery easily lasts 8 hours.

Time for a new ride... (ideas welcome!)

I rented a 2023 S10 to rode 2000miles of the Cali coast this year. I found it to be very agricultural in it's get up and go and it felt and sounded very much like the bigger tractors I drive at work. I was pretty surprised at how loud that engine was for what felt like pretty laid back power...

Ride Report - 2024 Nouveaux Angleterre et Gaspe

Thanks! I thought about you guys often on this ride and it was a difficult decision to not go south and catch up. But yes - it was a great trip and I am glad that I finally experienced Gaspe.

Ride Report - 2024 Nouveaux Angleterre et Gaspe

Day 2: Lincoln New Hampshire to Woodstock, New Brunswick One of the nice things about this trip is that the riding distances were shorter than my normal trips. Some of it is due to reduced daylight in the fall, but it was also so we could have ample time for stopping anytime we saw something...

Ride Report - 2024 Nouveaux Angleterre et Gaspe

This is a trip I've wanted to do for about 20 years and finally made it happen. If you have never been to Gaspe or the New England states for a fall colours ride - go do it! Highlights: 5400km/7 days Route: ON, NY, VT, NH, ME, QC, ON Highlights: My 22 year old bike never skipped a beat. Amazing...

    Baie-Comeau to Manic-Cinq?

One thing to note is that it’s a fast road. If you are doing 80 or 90 it will not be technical or probably that interesting. If you are doing well over 80 or 90 you will have a blast. There are pretty much no intersecting side streets, houses or built up areas. It’s just a few dams along the...

    Baie-Comeau to Manic-Cinq?

I thought it was tons of fun. It has zero traffic and big scenery, over rolling fast sweepers with pretty good pavement. I would definitely consider making another trip out there to ride that and the Saguenay region for a fall colours trip. And I found the tour of the dam very interesting too.

Re: The best roads/routes in Ontario/Quebec/U.S.

Cool thanks for the tip. I’m out east right now and will try to pass by there on my way home to experience it for myself!

West coast cannonball run, 9 days, 10,000KM.

I can appreciate that. As much as I dislike the slab I did really enjoy riding across the TransCanada between Ontario and BC despite many telling me I would hate it.

    MacDoc's new ride 2018 MT03 ends with 2017 GS310 loaded mebbe?

Congrats on the new ride Mac. I have a Nelson Rigg 40L drybag/knapsack and am pleasantly surprised with how well it's built. For windscreens, I'm in the camp that having one is nice if you are looking to reduce neck shoulder soreness on longer rides. For shorter rides I prefer the naked feel.

West coast cannonball run, 9 days, 10,000KM.

I don't think that plan sounds crazy - sounds pretty doable with a bit of planning and you have the bike for it. I'd offer to tag along for the SS1000, but highways and interstates are the death of me. Good luck with this ride and safe travels!

Deals Gap / Smoky Mountains 2024

I'm not sure yet, but we are changing them for sure. I'm not a fan of traveling by bike into an area that's been hard hit like this. It would be different if I was already down there, but being up here, I can easily go somehwere else so they can recover without added tourists. But if the...

Deals Gap / Smoky Mountains 2024

A lot of Western North Carolina is totally screwed right now. Some areas have no functioning 911, no cell services, no potable water, running out of food, fuel and some areas are only accessible by helicopter. Just wow...

Deals Gap / Smoky Mountains 2024

Riding down to the Gap on Monday morning, but this hurricane has the entire southern half of the Blue Ridge Parkway closed. The dam at Lake Lure may breach which happens to be next to a most amazing road called Buffalo Shoals. It's going to be an interesting ride.

    Belize..or…

I'm sure it's more pricey than Nica, but in fairness I was there in 2013 and very broke at the time, so everything in life felt pricey. In hindsight it felt fairly priced for being on islands and I would fully recommend.

Site Suggestion - include feature for user options to ignore/block forums

Agreed. We for sure can't call it 'church' since it excludes temples, mosques and gurdwara's and we want this subforum to be inclusive.

    Belize..or…

I've been there and got my scuba license there too. We didn't stay long in Belize City, but headed to the Caye Caulker right away and absolutely loved it. From there we headed out by boat for day trips or just chilled out on the island. Lot's of nice restaurants too and super relaxing vibe.
