Backfiring, stalling, and throatier than usual

And the saga continues. I took her back to burly cycle as it really only started acting up after valve clearance. They did a full inspection of the bike... Valves are in spec, the timing is ok, and they couldn't figure out why it was running poorly. 2 techs took it out for 20 minutes each and...

Backfiring, stalling, and throatier than usual

There is a smell that's present....I thought it was chain wax as I started to smell is after I waxed my chain, but the smell still persists. It seems to be coming from my radiator area. It doesn't smell like burnt oil, it's more along the lines of what maxima chain wax smells like when you get...

Backfiring, stalling, and throatier than usual

Update. Was riding around town last night and low and behold bike was running rough again. When I am in stop and go traffic it seems to run at it's worst as it stalled out on me as I was coming to a stop in 1st and pulled the clutch in. Started up fine. It popped 2 or 3 times easy on the...

    Helmet exemption for Sikhs/turbans

Saw a baller repping a aqua blue turban on his harley a couple days ago at Cawthra and Burnhamthorpe. No gloves either....straight up boss

Backfiring, stalling, and throatier than usual

Air filter was fine, no oil in the airbox either. Pulled the plugs and all of em were black. Turns out the bike is running rich and the person that tuned my bike it throwing it on the dyno to make some adjustments. Plugs were only in bike for 4000km. Ran perfectly fine with the new plugs. Once...

    FAST school. Who's going?

I wouldn't be so concerned about the rain on Monday (20mm)...it's going to be wet AND feel like 5C, which means pretty slippery conditions as the tires won't get any heat. Will definitely be a learning curve for you. Just make the best out of it! Beats sitting in the office :) You will have a...

    Gear Recommendations - Commuting

Yep I hear you. Literally the only time I didn't wear my riding jeans I went down. Both knee's pretty fu**ed up, but left especially. Took a solid year to recover and I still don't have full feeling on the inside of it. And that was doing like 70km.....

How to drain gas tank without making a mess?

get a pump siphon from walmart for $5 or get a tube and suck on it. Gravity will bring the gas down. If you get some in your mouth don't worry, it happens ?

Backfiring, stalling, and throatier than usual

Lloll! What's that? The shop? Because Ducatis are in the shop more than on the road!? ? I'll only find out once it's warm enough for her to run at operating temp (usually 18c+). I'll keep ya guys posted!

Backfiring, stalling, and throatier than usual

I have a screen in front of my ram air filter and plug the M4 pipe with a big 'ol rag for winter storage so there shouldn't be any mice. I'll still take a peep in the airbox though. I had about 150ml too much oil in my bike last oil change (not enough to do any damage), but I may have some oil...

You think bad gas would make a bike run that poorly? I hope its that easy of a fix, but with my luck it's not

Backfiring, stalling, and throatier than usual

My first step was to look in the air box. Maybe some oil or other crap in there (dirty air inlet sensor possibly?). I have put 3 full tanks of gas in bike since winter. Just weird how it only happens once bike reaches operating temps. When bike temp is below 80 it seems to run just fine. But on...

Backfiring, stalling, and throatier than usual

On my ride Tuesday night I noticed my 09 zx6r was performing quite strange once the bike reached operating temp. This was the first ride of the year the bike has reached operating temp 85+ because its been so chilly out so far this spring. It sounded a lot throatier than usual. Best way to...

    Wiring resting on radiator ok?

I manages to zip tie a couple wires together and tuck them out of the way closer to the fairing. Nothing resting on rad anymore. Time will tell if they will stay put....I should have turned my clip ons fully left and right first to make sure the clearance was ok lol!

    Wiring resting on radiator ok?

Not 100% sure. After I got my Stator/Rectifier installed and my valve clearance check done I noticed this. Was done at a reputable dealer/shop so I assume the wires were put back correctly. I'll swing by there next weekend and get them to take a quick look as I wasn't the one that performed the...

    Wiring resting on radiator ok?

Hi Guys, As the titles states I have a couple wires that are sitting on top of my radiator. I am smelling something at idle very similar to chain wax. I only started smelling this after I waxed my chain, but I am very careful and put cardboard behind it when I wax so it doesn't over spray on...

    Booking the M2 exit.

I just looked right now for fun as my M2 expires in 2 years. DAMN! Pretty much everywhere in the GTA is fully booked minus a couple spots here and there. Im surprised...it's not even June yet. I guess people book their M tests far in advance. Probably just going to wait till next year. Or do...
