Yup- this is the reality of this 1000cc era. With such tight regulations, the incremental gains are much smaller than they've ever been. If the factory missteps at all, it falls behind to its own predecessor.

I'd love to know what Ducati is thinking with a rider on a year-old bike and a 3rd tier team winning 2 races and leading the championship. Early days, but still.... that's the performance we expected from the factory (specifically: Bagnaia)
