Advice needed – What to request in a disclosure

From the user manual: Q. Will my radar work while my vehicle is moving? A No, the GHD and SCOUT radar guns are a stationary only models, so your vehicle should be parked You need to hold the radar steady while operating it Funny, although he mentioned it as "approach" mode, in the manual...

Advice needed – What to request in a disclosure

Thanks for the reply! Way to take the wind out of my sails. ;) All good to know, I appreciate your input with all your experience. I'm ditching the cosine argument and will stick to the nit picky discrepancies/inaccuracies of fact in his written and verbal statement on the stand, and hope that...

Advice needed – What to request in a disclosure

Also noticed that in the disclosure is a copy of the charge statement and not the actual ticket... there is no speed amount in the charge statement, just that I was speeding.

Much appreciated. Regarding your note "Ask them to read the note on inconsistency of the speed charge, then ask them to read the ticket", his notes do align with the ticket in terms of the speed, it was his verbal relay of the speed amount and reduction amount that didn't add up to what was on...

Advice needed – What to request in a disclosure

Also, came across a mention that for a radar or lidar to be accurate, the vehicle needs to approach the officer in a linear direction. Since I was in a sweeping turn I’m hoping this would suggest the Genesis’ readings as inaccurate. Anyone know more about this?

Advice needed – What to request in a disclosure

I’ve read through the details proceeding trial as posted her on GTAM and other sites. Two things I’m not clear on: 1) Do I need to do anything in advance to show any evidence such as the google map print out and/or photographs to use to my defence during cross examination? 2) there is mention...

Good to know... I’ll have to use it to cast reasonable doubt.

Advice needed – What to request in a disclosure

Further to this, just looked up a picture I took of the ticket that was issued. It clearly states Main St N / Brexhill Rd, which is incorrect. Is there a way I need to go about this first thing Monday when I show up for my trial since I think this would be a critical error on the ticket itself...

Advice needed – What to request in a disclosure

Eureka moment! I think I found a new and big flaw in his disclosure. He states that he was on Main Street just North of Brexhill Rd. I just discovered that he was not actually on Main Street (It's actually Main Street North), he was on the Main Street North Bypass. Main Street north of Brexhill...

Advice needed – What to request in a disclosure

Hey guys, so the rescheduled trial date is approaching on Monday. Sick at home with a newborn, so timing is impeccable! I didn’t bother with filing the 11b with the case being almost 18 months from conviction, since I ultimately requested the delay with my lack of experience. So trial on Monday...

    HOV Lane....fingers crossed everyone

LOL. I'm with Mike on this one, if the City of Toronto's own website says you get $110 fine and 3 demerit points for using one of their HOV lane incorrectly, I'm going with that. Maybe in some cases the cops end up incorrectly issuing a bylaw ticket by being confused themselves? Who knows, but...

MTO response to single rider HOV request

"Now, if the City of Toronto would just follow through on its promise to allow lane filtering — lane splitting to us motorcyclists — in the GTA, the entire province might actually become biker-friendly." When were we promised lane filtering/splitting?

    Another first accident...

Oops, realizing I might not have been clear, definitely use the front brake! I meant to say that I find being more heavy on the rear brake than normal (as in not afraid to lock it up) can be helpful and can give you more options in terms of altering your direction. But yes, this is not something...

    HOV Lane....fingers crossed everyone

“I’m pretty sure … drivers would be more than happy to know that the majority of motorcycles are going to be in the far left lane, the HOV lane, as opposed to being in your blindside by accident.” Sounds rational, but in reality most people will just be bothered by the fact that motorcyclists...

    HOV Lane....fingers crossed everyone

I thought any moving violation is an HTA and effects your insurance. Are you saying that if you get and HOV ticket in a car when say travelling on Don Mills there is no ticket that affects your driving record?

    Another first accident...

Glad you're okay all things considered. Was going to mention what Baggsy did, especially if this is the second time you've had similar outcomes. I'd practice your emergency braking techniques in a parking lot for a bit. More practice should help you bring the bike to a stop with the rubber side...

    Royal Distributing Tent Sale

Super ironic considering they are such an overtly Christian company, proud to show their religious beliefs (which implies morals) yet they pull this kind of crap.
