There's been some talk on the RT and GS forums of the TFT screens being stolen/ripped off bikes in the UK. I just assumed it was vandalism but now I know they just want to watch Netflix.
While I've got some time on my hands, I'm working on a design concept for a Senior's GPS.
It will give you turn-by-turn directions to wherever you want to go.
Upon arrival at your destination, it'll tell you why you wanted to go there in the first place.
I think after a year and a half you're still in the "on vacation" stage. This too shall pass. At some point you'l find your real retirement routine and less anxiety and dare I say "guilt?"
I've been retired for almost 15 years now. My wife and I have a son 51 years old and three grandkids aged 19 to 25. Everyone will have unique answers in this thread as there are so many variables in life experiences, health, financial resources and appetite for risk. Over time, try to understand...
I can give you experience from my perspective of riding for nearly 60 years and up to 20,000 km on this RT on another thread or PM but to summarize, I couldn't be happier. It is the complete bike. Now back to my original question.......
The 10,000 km that was performed in the spring wasn't representative but from multiple 10,000 km services on my previous R1200GS I seem to remember in the $500 range. Although a valve clearance check is performed, they seldom need any work as the the engine design and manufacture is well developed.
I purchased a 2019 BMW R1250RT from Endras and had the 10,000 km service performed there early this year just before they went out of business. The bike is nearing the next service interval of 20,000 and I'm thinking my options for service and warranty work in reasonable distance are BMW Toronto...
Received today:
Dear Valued Motorrad Client,
THANK YOU!
BMW Durham would like to thank you all for your continued support and valued business throughout the years. It wasn't an easy decision, but ownership and management have agreed to shut down all functions of the Motorrad Department...
As noted on the ADV Rider forum, it looks like Endras BMW has exited the motorcycle sales and service business. I was aware that their master mechanic Owen Clarke left last year. In my experience, he was very skilled and excellent at customer service. There seemed to be several personnel changes...
Couple of years ago in Oshawa, I was stopped in a line of traffic waiting for someone ahead to make a left turn. I was bunted from behind by a young lady in a Suzuki SUV with bush bars in front. I don't know how, but I stayed upright on the bike and made it off to the shoulder. She was clearly a...
It was a few years ago and I don't remember but I still use them. The fact that they're still in use tells you that the cost per use is very low and there's no waste to the environment like disposables. I do remember that with some companies you could claim the cost or part of it as hearing...
I don't use audio from the GPS or any other audio source for that matter. I enjoy the solitude of the ride and focus on the riding, hazards, etc. I occasionally glance at the GPS for upcoming turns or "is there a blind intersection over that upcoming hill?"
