You can only ride one at a time. If your out riding and find a gravel road that gets a little sketchy you can‘t switch bikes.
who said anything about a so-so adv beast.
1190 Adventure is a “proper” street bike in every sense. Even with tkc 80 tires it can way out perform any reasonable street...
I really don’t think 890 to 1190 is that much of a spread. If you can’t handle a big bike then a mid weight is probably too big as well.
now if your comparing a 1290 SA to a DRZ400 then yes there is considerable difference.
I have lifted my bike over a log or out of a hole in the sand that...
I bought my 1190 used with 12,000km and lots of the additional parts that I intended to buy already on the bike. A year before the 790 came out.
At first I wondered if I would regret not waiting. There was a lot of hype at the time that it was going to be a game changer.
I test rode a 1090R and...
Ah yes the world map with dots of all the places I’ve been on my bike.
I will just get a map of Ontario sticker. That will have to suffice until retiremen 😎
There are a lot of bikes being called adventure. So many that I don’t even know what it means?
If a DRZ400 is a dual sport what is a KLR650? Big dual sport or Adventure?
if you said dual sport then what about the KTM 890 Adventure surly it is a Adventure?
That CBF 1000 posted above I would call...
So what is an adventure?
Does it have to be multi day? Because that real has very little to do with the bike model you have.
Does it have to involve camping in a tent?
That has nothing to do with the bike.
Does it have to be both on and off Road? Because some people will have you believe that...
For the people saying just sell unfit and it’s not your problem.
This is not always correct.
Few years back my brother in law sold an old clapped out Camaro.
He made the mistake of saying to the young man buying it that he didn’t think it would take much to safety.
The young man bought the car...
I rented a bike for my first time but I’m going back and I love building/ customizing bikes so why not. It wouldn’t be my only bike if I could have one.
right now I have four.
A full suspension light weight Carbon fibre XC short travel Mtb for fast / race days. It mostly hangs in the garage and...
Not yet but I will. My riding buddy pulled a 180 into the foam pit and he’s 54years old so ya I’m going to try. For now I’m sticking to the pump track, the XC trail, the skinny bridges and the green/ bunny jump line.
I’ve been mountain biking for years and trying very hard to get both the kiddos into it. They both have rather pricey bikes with very very low km. On Thursday night my riding buddies decided we would take the kids to Joyride 150.
what a blast. Look it up. One of if not the largest indoor bike...
Lol
Here I thought the debate was ADV being a fad or actually versatile motorcycles that are very capable of multiple riding disciplines.
Yes your Vstrom can handle all I would ever expect from a large adventure bike.
It is considered by many to be an adventure bike.
As for pants ********...
For sure next season
funny story
Friday night I tried to shut off th MTC after receiving the ice possible warning.
It wouldn’t let me three times. 🤷♂️
So I switched to Off-road mode and it turned off. 😂
Then I went back to Sport for all the power 😎
My season should probably be over too.
I had a 2006 Road Glide and it did everything I could have reasonably asked of it.
The paint was exceptional. The JL Audio stereo was awesome. The big air cooled VTwin made all the right noise through the dual Vance & Hines exhaust.
Until I wanted more from the man and machine relationship.
The...
Well I run outa balls long before I run outa bike or wheel. And frankly that probably well after I should have run out of balls on the street.
That said switching from the stock rubber to the knobbies has slowed me down considerably. But it’s still capable of going way faster than anyone should...
I have contemplated many times on trading in on a 1290 Super Duke GT.
I absolutely love the look of them. I love the LC8 engine and to think it has 30 more HP than my bike 🤤
Then I come back to reality I can’t ride any faster than I do now unless I plan to do track days. I probably won’t do...
Can’t speak to the 21” but my 19” can hold its own. Imo
Now it was way more confident with the original Trail attack 2 street rubber over the tkc80 front tire I have now. The tkc80 also vibrates on the street a lot more.
just enough to remind you that it’s a knobby. But still capable enough to...
That can be a slippery slope 😉 one of our riding buddies came out on the trails with his Vstrom 650 and now it’s at GP and he is awaiting delivery of his new Triumph Tiger 900 rally pro.
Here is a mountain bike video of us. I’m the red light.
It was just getting dark enough that I probably should have had my lights on.
Sorry a little off topic. FYI this one weighs 28lbs
