I saw Super Joe Einhorn brake the world indoor record, jumping I don’t know how many cars at the International Centre. He did it two nights in a row so it couldn’t have been that hard. Howard Cosell and Evel Knievel were there the first night as commentators for Wide World of Sports. I was there...
I just tried to play a Neil Young song out in my garage and realized that he pulled his catalog from Spotify, so not exactly a perfect set up. Some might disagree.
I’ve ridden a few H2s back in the day and the ’72 was definitely the best year. Each year they got noticeably slower due to carburation and exhaust changes to meet emisions. My brother had a real nice ‘72 with chambers and K+N pod filters that had the carbs set up by someone that really knew...
I had a pair of old school Mission bookshelf speakers and recently picked up a like new Yamaha amp with Bluetooth for $100 on Kijiji.Got an unlimited amount of music and podcasts on Spotify without having to swap out cd’s with my greasy hands.Best $100 I’ve ever spent.Does anyone still use cd’s ?
I was just thinking that. I bought a brand new 1980 Suzuki GS750 from Sonic Motorcycles in my last year of high school. I paid $3100 + 7% provincial sales tax. I made $3 an hour working minimum wage at Budget Rent A Car. So I had to work over 1000 hours to pay for that bike.
I use to go in there occasionaly , it was run by a Czech guy and his wife. Generally pretty nice but he could be pretty cranky if you caught him on a bad day.Dont remember his name but it could have been Jerry. Funny story about that guy. A few years after it closed I remember opening up a Cycle...
Your right. He lives about 10 minutes north of me in Myrtle Station on HWY. 12. Haven’t seen him in ages but I know he’s got quite a bike collection up there.
Bar Hodgeson use to own a Kawasaki dealership at Kingston Rd. and Danforth in Scarborough. You could go in there on any given day and he would have a row of used H2’s he had gotten on trade ins In the showroom. My brother had a real nice ‘72 H2 that he took there for work. I rememember the...
I use to drive by that place every day. I think Dick had a falling out with Honda or something like that in the late 70’s He locked the place up with bikes and showroom paraphernalia still in there. You could look into the front window, it was like a little time capsule in the 80’s and 90’s. I...
What kind of mig and plasma cutter do you have ? I’m thinking of picking up a mig for an upcoming job doing some light fabrication and auto body panels a little later down the road.
I think that was the trade off for comfort on both the 800 VFR and 1200 VFR. What it also got you was stability at high speeds.Lighter sport bikes are great on the track or billiard table smooth roads but when you hit a pot hole or bump on an Ontario backroad at warp speed it ain’t fun. The VFR...
I remember looking at a VFR 1200 when they first came out, I never rode it or sat on it but it didn’t look nearly as comfortable as the 800. I’m turning 60 this year and wouldn’t want to ride to Halifax on either of those two bikes.
If I were to go the sport touring route again I would seriously consider an older BMW 1250 RT . My Buddy lent me his for the day this summer and I absolutely fell in love with it. More comfortable than my ST1300 and just handled way nicer and felt much lighter and more agile. Transmission felt a...
So I’ve had two fifth generation VFR 800’s from new, a ‘99 and an ‘01 which I absolutely loved. In 2008 was looking to replace my VFR but didn’t care much for the current VTEC version. I came across a killer deal from Brampton Cycle on an ST1300 ($13,700 + HST) . I thought it would be similar...
The problem with the installation as shown in the video is that you could potentially have two sources of power in the box that the switch/receptacle is mounted in - power from your panel as well as power from your generator. An inspector would definitely have a problem with that.
