    Generators

This is a pretty good option for those that already have at least a 5000W generator, a 7500W would be even better. I’ve e installed a few of them over the years, installation takes about 5 minutes. The last time I priced one they were about $1500. They use to be about $1100 but like everything...

    Paranormal Activity

I live in a hundred year old house previously occupied by three generations of a family that originally built the house. One cold winter evening I was home alone working in the basement, I heard soft footsteps directly above me in the living room and I could hear two people speaking softly but I...

Tim Hortons in Oshawa on Simcoe St. S - drive thru only

I do volunteer work at The Canadian Automotive Museum just up the street from that Tim Hortons in Oshawa, it’s super sketchy. About two or three years ago another volunteer went in to get a coffee. When he came out his car had been keyed the whole length of the drivers side and the crackhead...

Will the real Pierre Poilievre please stand up?

My wife and I have an odd hobby of watching 70’s tv shows on YouTube. We were just watching an episode of “The Six Million Dollar Man“ when a thought occurred to me. How much would it cost the federal Liberal government to build Steve Austen today? Bear in mind that it would probably get...

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

I would also use a meat thermometer just to be sure.

Will the real Pierre Poilievre please stand up?

So who gets to decide who’s a journalist in Canada? In the last 8 years we’ve seen this Liberal government go from corrupt, to criminal and now to just plain evil. “ I have an admiration for China’s basic dictatorship”, how did we not see this coming.I would donate money to Rebel News and David...

    Starlink speeds

I’m currently in Victoria, BC about to head home.Just finished doing Route 66 and the Pacific Coast Highway in a small motor home. We had perfect reception on our Starlink the whole way and we were in some pretty remote places in New Mexico and Arizona. The only time we had a problem was at a...

JT saving us one bottle of wd-40 and chain lube at a time

I’m going to have to disagree. I’m pretty sure JT is quite familiar with the use of lube, I’d put money on it.

    Motorcycle Garage

I for sure would be going the full 12’ in height for putting my compressor overhead and storage to free up floor space.

    Motorcycle Garage

I had one of those from Canadian Tire that I put all my stuff in from my garage while I insulated, wired , dry walled, painted etc. Well, that dragged on for two years and by that time everything I put in that tent had rusted so bad from the humidity trapped in it that I had to throw half of the...

    Motorcycle Garage

I’m in Whitby and I’m pretty sure the limit is 10’x10’ (100 sq.ft.)or equivalent. There’s also a height restriction but not sure what it is.

    Advice on purchasing new tires?

There‘s three things that I left out. I know a lot of guys like to use 2 irons/spoons but I always use a third one to get that last bit of bead over the rim while leaving the other two in place. Second, lube is your friend. Lastly, the golden rule for anyone attempting to change tires for the...

What did you do in your garage today..?

I have to admit that I’m somewhat sceptical but it‘s a compelling article that should be read for anyone considering a heat pump.

    Advice on purchasing new tires?

Space was the reason I got rid of my Nomar. I just wasn’t changing enough tires anymore to hang on to it. That Rabaconda looks pretty slick though and would be perfect for sport bike tires. Sport touring, touring , cruiser tires get progressively stiffer and more difficult to mount though...

What did you do in your garage today..?

There’s a 2 page article on heat pumps in today’s Toronto Star. New heat pumps are actually outselling new furnaces in the U.S but Canada is way behind. Apparently the newer ones work in cold climates and are becoming feasible due to soaring natural gas prices.
