Who's still riding? (Fall & Winter 2021 Edition)

Just put my Versys away so my season is officially done. 13,000km in total for my first full year (got my license last August and did around 5k).

    Trials lessons for a beginner?

I'm looking to broaden my horizons and try out different types of motorcycling next year. I've found places to do race (FAST school) and flat track (Go Flat Track) lessons which I'm excited about, but I'd also like to give trials riding a try. Are there any schools where I can do a day or two...

Who's still riding? (Fall & Winter 2021 Edition)

Z900 is in storage, but still riding my Versys. Did about 4 hours on the Trans-Quebec Trail today. I was originally planning on putting it in storage next week as well, but it's warming up a little so maybe I'll keep it an extra week or two.

    ADV fad

Even the middle weights are quite heavy. A T7 is 450lbs and when you add the crash bars (OEM 11lbs), skid plate (Camel ADV 7lbs), hand guards, etc, you're looking at 470lb+. And that's without any luggage. It's progress but they're still pigs. I'd really like to see more competition in the...

Post up PICS of members bikes?

Just re-bought my Versys X 300 today. I traded it in to the dealer in April and happened to see someone list it on FB Marketplace for a decent price with only 500kms more than I had put on. Apparently he bought it immediately after I traded it in and then didn't have time to ride it. I had...

How's your mileage been so far ?

1k on the Versys 300 before selling. 5K on the T7 before selling. 4.5k on the Z900, with more to come.

Who's still riding? (Fall & Winter 2021 Edition)

Finally got some cold weather gear after suffering to mid-November last year with my mesh stuff. I plan on riding as long as I can.

What GPS & mount do you run or are you a phone or paper map rider?

I use my phone with Google Maps on-road, and GaiaGPS off-road. Never had an issue with a Quadlock or Ram mount off-road, as long as you use the extra cradle with the latter. Those Garmins seem pretty nifty but I've been fine with my current set-up.

    Tiger Sport 660

Why is cruise control so rare on motrocycles? Is it really that expensive for manufacturers to add? This bike looks sweet but for a sport tourer, I'd 100% want cruise control.

    Ear Protection - opinion.

+1 for disposable foam earplugs. Comfortable, dirt cheap and hygienic since you just toss them after each ride. I have found there can be a big difference between brands though. The cheap walmart ones bounced back too fast making them hard to put in, and weren't as dense. I bought a massive...

Kawasaki to unveil 6 new 2022 vehicles on October 5th

https://www.kawasaki.com/en-us/ Wondering what everyone's thoughts are. If it's anything like last year's announcement, the teaser photos have the actual bikes underneath the covers, not just placeholders. There's a lot of speculation about a Versys X 400 on advrider which would be pretty...

    New Kawasaki Z650RS

My problem was all the hype around it...people were speculating that there would be a Tenere 700 competitor, and then they unveil it and it's an ancient bike that weighs even more now. Huge disappointment. I also just don't see the market for it. There are just so many options in that price...

    Road Test - Communication Question

Thanks for all the feedback! It was a small earbud that had no issue fitting with my speakers there. Passed with a 94%!

    Road Test - Communication Question

I have my road test tomorrow and was wondering what kind of communication device they use for it. I currently have a Cardo with speakers installed in my helmet - will I need to remove them to install theirs? If so, I may just bring my old helmet with no speakers...

    What gear do you wear?

I got my license last year, so I'm just starting to upgrade the gear I bought for my training course. Helmet: Picked up a Shoei RF1400 a month ago after starting with a cheap HJC Cl-Max 3 modular helmet. Fits great, super comfortable, lightweight and fairly soundproof. It was pricey but I'm...

2021 Honda Trail 125 ABS - would you buy one ?

Yeah that's nuts. 40 year old bike that goes like 60km/h shouldn't be selling for that much. Especially with how many were made.

I'm looking for some good riding around Mt Tremblanc (N of Montreal) as well as closer to home around Calabogie

I actually just got back 30 mins ago from a long ride in that area. I took the 327 from Lachute up to Mont Tremblant and then back down the same way. The road surface is quite poor for a good chunk of it to be honest. Very bumpy, lots of tar snakes, etc. There was also a lot of short sections...

2021 Honda Trail 125 ABS - would you buy one ?

I've been looking for a good deal on a CT90 for quite a while now as well. Missed out on a beauty for $1400 that was sold in under 30 mins last year, was in perfect condition. Ones in reasonable condition seem to go for around 2-2.5k, and ones that need a lot of work are like 1.5k. I can't wait...

2021 Honda Trail 125 ABS - would you buy one ?

You can get a used Grom for 2.5-3k. I'd 100% buy a Trail 125 for that. $4k USD is too much unfortunately.

    ~3ish day trip ideas?

Are you touring on your Z900? If so, do you have any luggage or anything for it? How does it do on longer rides? Most I've done is about an hour or two but have found it quite comfortable on the highways so far.
