    2022 Trip plans?

That's awesome, such a beautiful region. I've booked camp sites in Fjords-du-Saguenay, Monts-Valin and Hautes-Gorges-de-la-Rivière-Malbaie National Parks for this summer to do some moto camping. If you were intending to do that as well, they'll filling up very fast.

A Ride up North - James Bay

I'm also planning for mid to late May depending on work commitments, although just for the Billy Diamond Highway/North Road and not the Trans-Taiga, so maybe I'll run into you.

Motorcycle mechanic apprenticeship for a middle-aged guy?

I work for an organization that promotes the skilled trades to youth as viable career options, so I'm obviously biased, but there is a ton of demand for high-paying skilled trades careers right now and not nearly enough students entering the workforce to keep up. I'm not sure about...

Stupidly overpriced motorcycle for sale thread

    Anyone want a $9000 2022 TW200 with all of 4km on it? https://www.kijiji.ca/v-street-cruisers-choppers/gatineau/yamaha-tw-200/1604059768

    2022 Trip plans?

Going to do the Trans-Lab in mid-August this year. Planning on 11 days or so, but took off two full weeks in case I want to extend it a little bit.

The Most Important Motorcycle of 2021 ?

I had a whole long response typed out before and then erased it, but this in particular merits a response. Young people aren't investing because they're spending 50% of their income on rent and whatever they have left over needs to be saved for a downpayment before the already unaffordable...

The Most Important Motorcycle of 2021 ?

I'm not sure why I expected a nuanced discussion about the challenges that young people face on a motorcycle forum where the average age is probably 60+, but I didn't expect the played-out "avocado toast" garbage here. Seriously disappointing to read how out of touch some of you are.

    How about that

We already do - healthy food is generally exempt from GST while unhealthy food is fully taxed. Pretty much everything unhealthy that the government doesn't want us to do is taxed. I don't necessarily agree with taxing people who aren't vaccinated, but this isn't a new idea and I don't buy the...

The Most Important Motorcycle of 2021 ?

The Common Tread blog by Revzilla is also really high on the Navi for some reason. I'll echo the comments here and say I just can't see it selling well at all in Canada...you can buy a used Grom for 3.5k with only a couple thousand KMs and it will be a much better experience for a new rider. In...

Ever find your old motorcycle for sale again?

Not well lol. Received 4k for it, paid 4.5k to get it back.

Ever find your old motorcycle for sale again?

I traded in my Versys X 300 to a dealer in April this year, and then found it for sale on Facebook in October and bought it back. Someone bought it from the dealer a week or two after I traded it in, did around 500kms over the summer, and decided riding wasn't for him. Should never have sold it...

    something new?

I did a semester abroad in Shanghai and ate a lot of street food. I don't like thinking about that

Motorcycle Pants from MEC - 30% off

Those Drencher gloves look great but unfortunately seem to be out of stock, so I ended up grabbing these Decathlon rain over gloves the other day: Trek 500 mountain hiking waterproof over-gloves - Adults Only $25 and they fold up into themselves nice and small (glove for scale). They weigh...

    Motorcycle jeans

I also have a pair of PMJ jeans, can't recall the model name but they're great. Single layer jeans will be much more comfortable and lighter weight, but won't have great slide protection. The double layer jeans I tried on felt much too heavy to wear in the summer.

No charges warranted in fatal motorcycle crash involving Toronto police cruiser: SIU

The article links to the full SIU report, which goes over the evidence they have. Special Investigations Unit -- Director's Report Details, Case Number: 21-TVD-289. Scroll down to "Video/Audio/Photographic Evidence". They have the cop's dashcam which recorded the whole thing. Attached is the...

No charges warranted in fatal motorcycle crash involving Toronto police cruiser: SIU

Is there seriosuly nothing else they could have charged him with? Why did they only try to go for "dangerous driving causing death?" I highly doubt a civilian would walk away from this with no charges.

Did you get anything for Black Friday this year?

There seems to be some decent sales out there this year. I picked up an Enduristan Tornado 2 M duffel bag from Dual Sport Plus and some Givi crash bars for the Versys from Twisted Throttle.

    Wall mounted all-in-one bead breaker/tire changer/wheel balancer

I have those Motion Pro ones. Haven't had the opportunity to use them yet, but I've heard the difficulty really varies based on the tire. Here's Brett Tkacs doing it with one hand:

    Trials lessons for a beginner?

That's something I definitely want to try as well - I live 20 minutes from Napierville Speedway so I really don't have an excuse not to. Awesome info, thanks! I don't have a trials bike so I'll have to rent for now.
