Parking a motorcycle at a hotel in Brampton for a week - bad idea?

Have a work trip coming up to Brampton for a week and was planning to take my Versys. After reading about how much motorcycle theft there is in Toronto, I'm second guessing myself now. It's a scratched up 300cc bike that's worth 4k max, but still...am I worrying over nothing?

Chrissy Rouse, BSB rider and podcaster (Chasin' the Racin')

https://www.bikesportnews.com/news/news-detail/chrissy-rouse-has-died He crashed hard at Donington Park last weekend and was hit by another rider. Tragically passed away this afternoon at 26 years old. He hosted an excellent podcast called Chasin' the Racin'...a must listen if you're...

    New Honda 750 Hornet (pics)

It doesn't look bad, just meh. But Yamaha ruined the MT-07 with the 2021 headlight, and the other bikes in the class aren't lookers either with the exception of the Trident. I can see it selling very well if priced competitively here, which it seems to be in other markets.

    Da 'Wave'

I normally try to wave back or at least give a nod, but when it's a nice weekend and there are tons of bikes out it gets a little annoying to be honest.

    Asleep at the Wheel

In my Honda Civic, if I put on lane assist and assisted cruise control, I have to put my hands on the wheel every 15 seconds or else it will start beeping and turn off. Does autopilot have something like this?

Near Fatal Crash Riding My Bike Last Saturday

Scary situation, good to hear you're ok. Seems like ABS could've helped, but good riding to avoid the worst. I had my own near death experience earlier this summer that was largely my fault. It was at the start of a 3 hour ride home too...was nauseous for over an hour afterwards and just wanted...

2022 MotoGP Discussion (No Links - Contains Spoilers!)

100% agreed. Seems like the idea was pretty universally hated when announced and I just don't get it. WSBK sprint races are crazy entertaining and it's just what MotoGP needs.

Have a new rider in family. I think I have a plan but can someone offer tips on getting started re: licensing and insurance?

Excellent choice!! I have a Versys X 300 and I love it. I think it's the ideal first bike since it can do everything well. Great on the road (performance of a Ninja 300), great for touring with the big gas tank and comfortable ergonomics, good off-road, and it comes with a luggage rack with is...

    World Superbikes 2022 (Spoilers Allowed!)

Awesome weekend of racing, it's going to be a long summer break. I'm curious to know what was going on with the two flats - debris on the track or the tires just didn't hold up? Sucks for Gerloff who was having a good race. I decided at the beginning of the year that I would go to my first race...

    Riding a smaller displacement bike

I've had no issues on my Versys X 300...it can cruise at 130km/h on the highway for hours with no problem and can go higher than that if needed. Just have to shift down if you need to do a quick pass. I don't feel any less safe than when I was on my Z900.

First time buying a new motorcycle from a dealership.

I have always just called the dealer and put the deposit down over the phone (usually need to give them a photo of a license and a credit card) and then come sign the papers/pick up the bike on the same day. Works well if the dealer is far. They usually have it ready within a week.

    🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

I'm sure the cop who "accidentally" failed to make him aware of his rights won't face any punishment either. Disgusting. And cops wonder why everyone hates them these days.

Ride Report - NEBDR through Maine and New Hampshire

This weekend I did sections 8, 7 and 6 of the North East Backcountry Discovery Route (going southbound), which including the highway to and from was around 1300km in 2 days with each day being around 12 hours of riding. This was my second time moto-camping and the longest I've ever ridden in a...

    Rescue beacons et al

I bought a Garmin InReach Mini 2 this year. Realistically, it's not necessary and if I was trying to pinch pennies I wouldn't haven't gotten it. That being said, it's really nice being able to text my wife when I'm on the road or at a campsite with no service, and it gives quite a bit of peace...

    Purchasing from QC

I'm talking about bikes that have somehow had their registrations 'cleaned' when imported into Quebec, as mentioned by KWDRZ. Not much you can do if the registration is clean. I doubt Ontario would know either. If you buy a bike that's marked VGA and expect to register it in Ontario, then that...

    Purchasing from QC

I don't know much about people importing vehicles into Quebec and somehow cleaning the registration, but I wouldn't be concerned though. We're not talking about a high end vehicle here like a valuable sports car. Bikes tend to be cheaper in Quebec in general so if it's a slightly lower price...
