I agree with the comments on the benefits of FI, but the best fueled bike I have ever owned was an earlier R6 with an Ivan's Performance jet kit in it.
Might want to have a look at Amazon. If you scan through the endless listings of Chinese products, you can sometimes find a decent brand - what am I talking about, they're all Chinese product regardless of the brand.
I haven't owned an early model, but seems much the same, some modern features though - factory heated grips/cruise/bags/power screen/6 speed (watch recall)/LED. A GS would be an excellent choice too (especially if you like Starbucks ;)).
Last year, I bought a new 2019 FJR1300 ES after having had a first year FJ09. I chose the FJR because I wanted to do longer trips and for passenger room and comfort. It is the Escalade of motorcycles, with weight being the price paid. The FJ09 was OK, but I think that the motor gets more credit...
Rented a Harley Road King in Coloradan Springs and rode from desert to across the Continental Divide. No problem for the bike whatsoever. Awesome area and the roads are not difficult as the are designed for tourist car traffic.
Brian's FZR and this KTM are essentially street legal race bikes. I have an old GS850 with a big, comfy couch seat, yet I find it uncomfortable too. In fact, I don't think that I have ever ridden a "all day comfortable" bike. I am envious of you iron butt guys (wait, that sounds weird).
