Is it really cheaper to insure a second bike?
I've been gawking at the Husqvarna 501 and 701 but they are a little $$$$$ for me. Will probably end up going the Standard/Naked route.
My current bike is exactly 20 years old haha. Actually very reliable. Though KLR so guess that's why.
Not so much a fan of modern bike looks. And the power of a modern 600 is just not something I am particularly interested in either. If I go modern it will be a naked of sorts like an xsr700 or...

God I will have to find one one day. When I have a proper garage that's actually where I live. What an absolutely special thing.
Will probably stick to newer stuff for time being. Vintage sport bike dreams on hold for now :cautious:.
Yeah I remember reading that the engines were quite fragile on them in some cases, especially considering many were raced. Curious it there was a difference in reliability between the 400 and 600 though.
So I'm not a sport bike guy, but DAMN these are so beautiful.
Seems they could be had for cheap-ish when they pop up. Anyone own one before? Thoughts on them regarding ride, reliability? i4 carbureted bikes seem terrifying to maintain. Tried an i4 recently (Katana 750) and was amazed how...
Sony A7ii was on a great discount recently. Something like $700 off.. Switched from M4/3 to that. Very happy with it!
Might be overkill for hobby stuff though (I sort of shoot professionally?). I did pro work on Olympus EM-10mkii for years, great format, especially if you don't plan on doing...
Welcome! :)
I'd definitely listen to what the others say here. I started last year, and was hellbent on getting a cafe racer because...

Ended up on a cbr125 that I commuted on every day for the year and then sold for an upgrade this winter.
I ended up riding and enjoying...
Also, realized that designing a sidecar is kind of the only reasonable way to go. Just need to figure out how to design one on the cheap-ish side... Can't be spending thousands of dollars on it really...
Seems the way to go in the city is brakeless, but still with suspension obviously. Then I...
Appreciate the honesty ?. Thought maybe rent there was better than downtown TO. Been window shopping online for some houses with garages... A slight job upgrade and I can be there soon... maybe...
Re racing: I will reconnect for next spring! Going to be windsurfing the rest of this month...
You have a keelboat in oakville? Would love to crew on it :D. Just need to get out west more often. My work hours are annoying for evening racing (I work 11-7...)
I'd totally move there if I could find affordable rent with a garage. Then I could get a car and forget about trying to have a...
I was just on the toilet thinking about this!
Would also make my idea of commuting in the winter much easier. Bike would be more stable, and I would minimally have to use public transit which is a HUGE plus these days.
Wonder if it's possible to make a removable sidecar... I know its a huge...
Never did ice boats! Just sailing / windsurfing. I like getting the living crap beaten out of me by mother nature under sail power. Probably my favorite thing in the world honestly.
Just such a pain in the ass being into motorcycles and windsurfing when I live downtown in a tiny apartment...
THIS is exactly what I was thinking. Any link to a tutorial on how to manufacture one of those? I remember reading about PVC racks, though some say the sun will degrade them?
Also, I am wondering as to the safety of my stuff while I am out windsurfing. Outside of Toronto not too worried, but...
Good point, If I was to go the outer harbor route, I'd probably just go to TWC though. Used to teach at Toronto Centreboard Club occasionally too. Those clubs along the cherry strip are great!
Yakima box would be cool. Though my board is a 133L, so over 2m long. Not sure if they make them that...
I used to teach there a while back haha. I'm in talks with someone there regarding getting a slot for next season. Guess I can pick up gear from there if I go with other people to other locations. Really wanting to launch off Humber Bay Park West too. Wind seems cleaner over there and the waves...
So I've done a bit of research on the topic. Seems surfboard on the side of the bike is (obviously) incredibly dangerous and is only sort of ok for short jaunts at low speed with a small board. Wouldn't work with a windsurfing rig since I have a mast/boom/sail as well.
I know trailering behind...
