Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

When my house was built I tried to save some money by going with cheap laminate countertops in the kitchen and bathrooms, with the idea that I would upgrade to stone later on. Not sure how good of an idea that was since today was the day I ordered countertops (Stonewood Quartz countertops) for...

What did you do in your garage today..?

Pulled the top deck off the Seadoo last night. Had to do it to install a depth finder, but also did an oil change and added quick connects to the battery for a trickle charger while it was opened up. Its all back together now and winterized. The depth finder will be sweet for next year. Should...

Where do you guys get engine oil change parts here?

Last time I bought oil I got it from Royal Distributing. They had a pretty good deal on Motul 300V so I picked up a few oil changes worth. Unrelated but I used to buy oil change kits (the two rubber o-rings, the two drain plug crush washers, and the filter) for the DRZ off of thumpertalk, but...

JT's not the only one handing out free money...

I thought they did back to work legislation but with mandatory arbitration. Here is a little different where they gave them only one option of a contract they choose. My mom was part of CUPE for 15 years. The union was always telling them which party to vote for, and it was never the...

    Inflation

Small houses made sense when the kids turned 18 and GTFO. Now lots of kids staying until they are mid 20's because they can't afford to leave. Now you've got 3 or 4 adults living in a house, and you'll need more than 1000 sq ft for that.

What did you do in your garage today..?

Since I got the DRZ I installed a quick connect on the battery and another on the Noco trickle charger I have. The bike sits 99% of the time hooked up to the trickle charger year round because of how easy it is to connect. You would want the waterproof cover for them also if you were going to do...

    COVID and the housing market

I don't know the whole truth because I heard the story through the guys brother, but this guy rents out his old house in Toronto to a single mom + 2 kids back in like 2012 or 2013. Doesn't raise rent since cause its a single mom and wants to be nice. Over time her parents move in, and then her...

What did you do in your garage today..?

Had to have some sort of design on there for grip, and that logo is easier for me to do the CAD/CAM for then a regular pattern

What did you do in your garage today..?

Making my own G10 knife scales (handles) on my CNC router has been a near 8 month process on and off so far, but I've finally got a set finished for an Ontario Rat 1. (Also I the lighting in the photos is different and makes it look like two different knifes...)

    Signs or common sense?

A few years ago I was reading some of the Darlington NGS site planning documents from the 80's where it essentially said 1 or fewer deaths was the target for construction of the reactors. As far as I know no one did die, so that's good, but still it really surprised me as you'd never see a job...

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

Always found when the roll on driveway coating fades you see the roller marks and makes it look ugly. The spray on at least fades evenly. My driveway now is concrete and its the best. I don't think they've built a new house in my town in the last 20 years that had an asphalt driveway...

    Hey bolt whisperers

Not local unfortunately but you could order it from McMaster Carr and get it here in 2 days. McMaster-Carr Only thing is they dont ship to individuals in Canada, however all they require is a company name to ship it to you. I just put down the name of the company I work for and my home address.

    Da 'Wave'

Very rarely will a Captain Jack Sparrow cosplayer wave at the DRZ. Likely too busy trying to maintain the exact speed limit. Mostly everyone else does tho.

What did you do in your garage today..?

Big day for the Jeep today getting ready for winter; oil change, transmission fluid change, rotated the tires, and new wiper blades. First time doing the tranny fluid on this JL at 72k km. I'm surprised at the small amount of metal shaving on the plug considering this is the vehicle I learned...

    Trailers, Campers and RVs…

Ah thats not as bad as here. Anything over 18ft long or 8ft tall and you can't park it here, which is basically every travel trailer besides a pop up.

    Trailers, Campers and RVs…

Check the bylaws. Out in Clarington you're technically not allowed to store a travel trailer in your driveway due to the size. They don't do anything until one of your neighbors complain though. I'd be surprised if where you're at was any different

Small SUVs who has them and opinions

Need something like the Scion xB. Built for teens but became the car of the retirees because of how easy the seats were to get in and out of. I think of the Kia Soul as the new xB. For the love of god don't buy a Nissan. Or a Chevy Trax (Buick Encore) - my parents have one and its a piece.
