Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

I'm swapping out all my nickel door knobs and hinges to black levers and black hinges. Somehow I'm short 1 hinge... Either a pack of 12 hinges only came with 11 or I've lost one throughout the house... What a piss off

In for a penny in for a pound. New faceplate with no date = $52. New movement with day/date = $88. Just gonna swap the entire movement. Its a newer NH36 with hacking so should be a bit of an upgrade. I just want to finish this thing and never touch it again.

Yeah it broke before even putting it in the case. I just put the dial on and went to turn it again and nothing turned. Date ring I didn't touch Yeah broken tooth was recovered. I'm saying f*ck the date and buying a dial with it blocked off. It can sit hidden back there

The "Official" Watch Thread and all Things Horological

Not a good evening back in watch modding land. I bought a new dial, hands, and movement ring for my Seiko SKX. At some point while swapping out the movement ring I've mangled something in the movement and now have no ability to change the day/date. At first I couldn't change the time and...

What did you do in your garage today..?

Got the DRZ washed, chain lubed, and started for the first time since October Somehow broke the right rear blinker off over the winter. They are DRC 602's and appear to be hard to find now. Its been years since I heard the name Kimpex but it says they have them so I've bought two sets to last...

I was a poor highschool kid when they launched on Kickstarter, but once they came out and were more readily available I was in uni and bought one. I just went and dug it out of the drawer but not quite sure where the charger is. Still looks good

What did you do in your garage today..?

In my guest room the closet door swings open right beside the bed where a nightstand should be. I tried to buy something that would fit but there wasn't anything available. I found some cheap $15 foldable shelf brackets on Amazon and have a bunch of 1-1/8" oak, so I've made my own foldable...

The "Official" Watch Thread and all Things Horological

Just picked up a Seiko SRPD76K. Been looking for one for a few months but they have been out of stock or priced unreasonably high. The Bay had a sale and was able to pick it up for $360+tax (still high but a lot cheap then other places). I'm not a big fan of how it looks stock, but I've...

    COVID and the housing market

This house is the worst thing I've ever seen but the ad is kind of interesting: Check out this listing "FIRST TIME OFFERED IN CANADA, THIS HOME WILL BE PART OF THE OPENN OFFER PROCESS. SOME DETAILS of OFFERS WILL BE SHOWN in the public listing domain (PRICE, NUMBER OF OFFERS, whether...

What did you do in your garage today..?

Yeah I'll probably swap the ESC key out for a layer key at some point. I was just trying to get one layer working first. Once you've one layer working everything else is simple. There is like 150 solder joints to test all at one time that I was more worried about than a numpad.

What did you do in your garage today..?

These split keyboards/ergodox layouts take a long time to get used too. The bottom row is; tab/backspace/space/enter/shift/esc. It should have layers set up for all other missing keys, but I haven't got that far yet.
